I don't think Freddie was being smug at all when he answered 70. He was just answering a question (rather probling/ cheeky one at that!) in an honest way.

It seems that the Fisher family are very nice people. After reading the local reporters take on Kris' visit and how they made him feel so welcome despite him being an ass to their son, it is easy to see why Halfwit is such a good guy.

He was embarrassed about the question. He knows the costs of running such a house and hiring it out for weddings is an indication that running it costs a huge amount of money.

Bea was definitely trying to make Freddie look bad.

Kris was won over by Freddie's parents. He probably discovered they had worked for what they have.
I doubt the house is as big as David Beckham's or any number of celebrities.

Bea came in talking love and peace and Freddie believed her. She is the absolute opposite.
