I can't understand what this obsession with Helen and Paul is, anyone tell me?

bananarama 18-07-2002 06:57 PM

Ok. Some people get drawn into "Soap operas" and get "concerned" if that is the right word about what happens to the characters. Such people enjoy this remote experience as we all do when we enjoy a good film.

Now with regard to Paul and Helen. They were part of a live "soap opera" This time the story was real. The sentimentalists amongst us wished them well and having watched them intimately for several weeks no doubt feel we know them and more importantly feel for them.

It is no mystery if you like a love story "And helen and Pauls was one of the sweetest about two very nice people" then you remain interested, even concerned about what becomes of them.:xyxwave:

Many people believe that one word frees us of all the weight and pain of life.

That word is love.

For those of us who love a good slushy romantic film, last year we had nine weeks of a fantastic love story watching H and P's feelings for each other grow day by day. We (or at least I know I did) felt they were part of the family and feel really pleased that despite all the pressure and media attention they have survived. Its lovely to have a happy ending. Sorry the only excuse I can have for my obsession is that I am a born romantic - nothing wrong with that as far as I am concerned.

Only problem I had last year was lack of sleep. I was absolutely glued to the box.:::love:

It was nice to see our Helen on GMTV this morning. Even if she did have to share the limelight with two ex BB contestants.

Kaz 25-07-2002 09:41 PM

Hi bananarama. :wavey:

I didn't see Helen on GMTV this morning, but I just had to say that your new avatar is fantastic!

What a lovely picture of Helen. :hello: :helen: :hello:

bananarama 25-07-2002 10:13 PM

Thank kaz. Lee kindly selected it for me. She was with Anna Nolan and Merryl hill. Hope I have got the names correct as I didn't watch BB1.

She was also wearing a black outfit similar to the top in the avatar. I hope she is on for the final tomorrow.:bouncy:

Princess Pink Pants 26-07-2002 06:58 AM

What did Helen say on GMTV yesterday?

Anna Nolan is right I think, but its Mel not Merryl! I got confused when you said that! Lol!

cc100 26-07-2002 10:41 AM

well..............helen was talking to ben shephard about bb in general.
he seemed actually interested in what she was saying.
he asked her all the obvious questions...yada-yada-yada...
then he said that helen had made a good career in the media and asked about paul clarke, helen said that he was shy, then she said he isnt shy and that hes happy to just be in the background and that he had spent years at college and uni and didnt want to throw it all away by chancing it in the media.she said they were very happy now that they r not "too showbiz", but then she said "u can never be 2 showbiz!!"

aw bless her she looked great, lost some weight too!!

Caught a glimpse of Helen this morning on GMTV she was doing the competition - "look what we are giving away a brand new tv" etc (catch my drift) so they must be keeping her around for the time being let's hope so anyway

cc100 31-07-2002 02:06 PM

PERHAPS THEYLL USE HER A LITTLE TO LET PEOPLE FORGET BB
COS WHEN THEY INTRODUCE HER THEY DONT MENTION BB, SO MAYBE THEYLL USE HER
BECAUSE THEY DONT SEEM TO USE ANY OF THE CORRESPONDANTS THAT FREQUENTLY. :helen:

kaphc 01-08-2002 08:00 AM

She was on again this morning doing the voiceover and link for a competition. When she read the rules out she was talking slower than I've ever heard her before, so she must have had some coaching and advice.

At the end, when they cut back to the studio, the female presenter said "Oh I was expecting her to do her little wave" - so Helen must have a special wave that she does a the end of her slot or something?

:hello: :hello: :hello:

cc100 01-08-2002 01:21 PM

yes she does

bananarama 01-08-2002 05:43 PM

She waves with both hands like two windscreen washers meeting in the midde. (If that makes sense!!)

:bouncy: : :bouncy: Like this but with the left hand going inwards instead of outwards. :spin2:

Di2001 01-08-2002 06:30 PM

I saw this clip advertising a competition today! I haven't seen her on TV for a while so made a refreshing change.

kaphc 01-08-2002 06:48 PM

Yes, the windscreen washer analogy does work, in fact I can picture Helen waving like that now! :helen: :helen:
