I'm a bit of a book-worm, myself.
I've just finished reading 'Out' by Natsuo Kirino for the second time.

I used to read ALL the time!! Now I only read Harry Potter (a bit sad really)

I used to read books of every genre, but these days I only read fantasy, crime novels and true crime. I have a slight fascination with the concepts of homicide and the supernatural...

I tend to read a lot of crime - real and fictional. I like horror as well, like Dean Koontz and Stephen King. Lucky, which I'm reading at the moment is a bit of a departure for me.

i am reading the sisterhood of travelling pants #3 at mo got it this morning i like teen books and i love harry potter

I read Jordans autobiography this week- i thought it was really good! x

Last book I read was Where Rainbows end by Cecila Ahern. I also read ps I love you by her as well im not sure what my next book will be

Just finished Phillip Pullmans Dark Materials trilogy (well worth a read) and Ben Eltons Past Mortem (not so good as I guessed the murderer half way through)

lol well thats not fun as it ruins the book

i own jordans biography, i bought it in woolworths in Febuary.
I dont read alot but when i do i read true life.
The last one i read was: A Child Called It by dave pelzer

I know... the end was a big let down :bawling:

yep i like real life as well jordans book was good

I enjoyed Jordans book too.... althought it wasnt exactly a hard read

Have you read Dead Famous by Ben Elton? It's really good, especially for Big Brother fans!

That's a really sad book isn't it? I remember being really upset by it.

I read that a few years back - it's a good read.

I havent read that one but it's on my list to read. I do enjoy his books and i loved popcorn & blast from the past

Oh yeah, that's a sad book, especially because it's a true story. It upset me as well, but at the same time it's slightly uplifting, I think, because it shows how resilient the human nature can be.

I havent read the other two parts. I need to purchase that

I borrowed it from my aunty, thinking it wont affect me, but it really did upset me. I will probley use me libary card [if i can find it] and look for it at the libary :hello:

I know, I remember picking up the book and thinking 'ooh, that's bad' but the blurb really doesn't prepare you for what's inside the book.

Yeh i know. I was quite surprised at how upset i was actully i didnt think it would affect me. I might start reading again soon.

Did you end up really really REALLY hating his parents? I remember getting really angry about it.

I did indeed, and i feel the dad could have done more to help him. I thought im really happy to have such a great mum.

His dad was useless, and almost as bad as the mum, in a way. The book made me really grateful for what I have.

Yes me too. It really made me count my blessings.

Another true story that made me count my blessings was 'Chinese Cinderella'. It wasn't any where near as extreme as David Pelzer's story, but it's about a chinese girl whose family ostracized her because her mother died giving birth to her. They told her this meant she was 'bad luck', and she was treated like dirt by her siblings, her father and especially her step-mother.

I haven't heard of that, but I'll keep an eye open for it. There's a book called Once In A House On Fire by Andrea Ashworth, which again, isn't as extreme as Dave Pelzer's book, but it's very sad.

Ooh, well I'll keep my eye out for that one, then.

well im just too start a book called candy (for teenagers)

my sis always reads the last chapter of a book before ahe starts to read it how sad is that ?

Here are 2 of my personal favourites..
Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse .. read it when i was 17 .. (many moons ago) .. and it still leaves me profoundly moved!

..And, Unreliable memoirs, by Clive James, this has to be the funniest autobiography of all time.

Spy High series by AJ Butcher.

Oh yeah, and Liars and Saints by Maile Meloy

I've just read Philip Pullman "His Dark Materials" Trilogy and i could easily pick them up again. They're so dark and mysterious.

goes and packs them for my holiday

I was looking at the trilogy on Amazon about an hour ago, ..they look brilliant, i must get them! Cheers.

They captivated me..... and I dont normally go for that type of book. I got so drawn in and I could hardly put them down!
