to be fair it isn't just christians who don't believe in creation. It is possible the world has always been here, we just can't process that thought because we're used to everything having a start. The world works in mysterious ways ...

Is that not one of the biggest events which Christians beleive in/made happen? Not saying you can't.. i just somtimes wonder why.

Okay, your argument is pretty weak though. Why are you religious? Why do you believe god exists? Have you really thought about it?

Naah. Presents!

Of course.

But still it was bascially made because of christianity. People have no trouble celebrating xmas.

Tom 14-10-2009 03:03 PM

Its hypocritical but I do it anyway, its just the secular culture

Yeah but the Bible is about Creation, if they can't believe everything in their own holy book, how can they even call themself a Christian at all?

I didn't say for a fact God exists. I said i BELEIVE God exists. I am entitled to a beleif no matter how 'idiotic' it may be.

What makes you believe though? Do you believe the Bible is literal?

That's because it's tradition. Jews do not celebrate xmas, btw.

But you must think he exists if you believe it to be truth? :conf:

I've been bought up in a religious family. I just find it hard to beleive some of the things scientists have said. Of course i've questioned my religion.. i think everyone does. And there's no point in explaining what makes me beleive because i think only people who do beleive will understand where i'm coming from. It gives me comfort in beleiving there is a God.. and i found it pretty rude that i get called an idiot because of what i choose to beleive in.

Twilight 14-10-2009 03:08 PM

FFS it called a different opinion people! If Christina believes in it let her shes hardly hurting anyone believing in it is she?

I did say i have questioned my religion aswell. Works both ways.

Anyways i'm not here to argue with you i'm stating an opinion in which i have. I'm allowed, you're allowed, everyone is allowed. :xyxwave:

Enid 14-10-2009 03:12 PM

So what things have you found hard to believe?

Tbh I find it hard to believe that god created the world in 7 days. I mean, even Superman couldn't do that and he's real!!

Alf 14-10-2009 03:12 PM

would you believe me if i told you i was the son of god?

if not why do you believe others that tell you they are?

Twilight, go troll some other thread.

Enid 14-10-2009 03:13 PM

Not at all. She's the only one backing up her beliefs (which I credit her for). If there were other religious people here I'd be questioning them too. This is what debate is! Move along now...

You can't objectively say he exists/he doesn't exist. There is no proof either way, so its just down to a belief.

But Christina said, she never said god existed but that she believed he existed. Surely if you believe something to be real, whether it is in fact true or not is irrelevant?

Niamh. 14-10-2009 03:18 PM

Great points Joe, I agree 100%

Because shes stating her opinion, she doesn't know god exists (shes said that in this thread, saying she has questioned it) but she believes he exists, just like you don't believe he exists, but you don't know that for fact. There is a difference. Its an opinion.

Enid 14-10-2009 03:22 PM

But I do not live my life based on a set of rules believing in something that may or may not exist.

InOne 14-10-2009 03:23 PM

I think Santa is more possible and more Charismatic. Yahweh and Allah. :yuk:

Tom 14-10-2009 03:23 PM

Enid you believe god doesn't exist and you believe science is right don't you? Plus you must believe in all your morals etc. Your entire thought process is based on belief.

It's not hard to refute relgious logic. Who designed the designer? If their logic is that we were created then surely God must have been created too?

But... Science does exist!

My morals don't boil down to faith. It's called Determinism.
