John and Edward have enough money for a basic living. They can afford food , clothes and other essentials to live. The people in Haiti do not have any of that and many are living in Poverty and are sick.

Sort the priorities first before your luxury items.

That's because they don't have the money, we do. More money than they could ever imagine, infact.

I'm not saying it's anyones problem, but what you're suggesting is that we should just leave them all to it. Leave them all to suffer, grieve and then ultimately die. What good does that do? On the same line of reasoning, I'd assume that if you were to pass a house on fire one night, you'd just walk past as if nothing was happening because 'it's not anyone elses problem that their house is on fire'.

People are dying all the time though.

They haven't worked for their money at all, woman. The only thing they've done is recorded their voice, which has then been changed. The rest has been left to their record label. They've done absolutely nothing to deserve the money they're getting.

The people of Haiti, on the other hand, were working for hours and hours on end, doing jobs that you could never imagine, for very, very little money.

Not that many in one go. If John and Edward died tomorrow that is still less number of deaths then the Haiti people have had. We can help them live longer and live to a nice old age.

Yes we can. We have far more money than they could ever imagine. No, it wouldn't stop anymore earthquakes, but it would still benefit the lives of those who are suffering at the moment, and who will be in the future. We have to pull ourselves together as a worldwide community. If people aren't willing to put themselves out to help others, then it just goes to show how awful this world is.

It's the same principle though, no matter how big or small. You either leave all, or nothing. If your parents were in that fire and some stranger was in your position, I'm sure you'd want them to help, wouldn't you?

My God, so everyone else was bringing in pounds like Fivers and more, to give to them.
And I was just sitting there in disgust.

Stacey what is more inportant. Spending a pound on some sweets which are not good for you anyway or spending a pound to help someone suffering in a less well off country who would dream of eating that mars bar.

I think Stacey and some other people, would rather spend money on things to help them rather than things to help strangers.. Thats how I see it anyway.

We don't need luxuries. We want them. Not need them.

A small amount would go along way. Sparing a pound, or even less, still goes a long way. The amount of money you spend during a week on snacks and drinks would seem like a fortune to them. Even if the majority of the world all donated a penny each, that would amount to a lot of money. If you aren't willing to spare the smallest bit of money that you don't need, then you, and others who think the same, have a problem.
