What happened was, while Gaga was working on 'The Fame' she wrote and recorded a very different version of 'Telephone', for Britney Spears. It was for the 'Blackout' album. Britney recorded it, but then didn't use it on the final album. The year later, Gaga wrote a song for Britney called 'Quicksand' for her album 'Circus', a song that was used. Then, about 8 months later Britney requested to have Telephone back so she could use it on The Singles Collection but by then Gaga had already recorded the song with Beyonce for The Fame Monster. |

It leaked. I have it. Not gonna post on here.

Really? |

I'm afraid to say GaGa's is better. Britney's is too autotuned. |
Quote:
Or PM me the link? |
|
omg its so robotic
|
Not a fan at all, sooo autotuned. What a shame.
|
Mind you. It's a demo. This wouldn't been the version that would've went on her album.
|
And I thought I couldn't sing.

The chorus is so weak but like Jonathan said it's only a demo.
Gaga's version >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Britney's |
Not very good at all. I'm glad GaGa released it instead.
|
Its hilarious that the night Loukas only finds out about it being done by Britney first, it's released
|
I prefer to Gagas, but then again anything without Beyonce is a plus!
|
It may be fake. She's auto tuned in every single song, but this doesn't sound like Britney.

And yes I agree with basically everyone. GaGa's > Britney's. GaGa's would have been even better if it didn't include Beyoncé. |
i love Beyoncé but i dont think 'Telephone' should inculde her.
its not really her. |
A lot of songs have gone to other people rather than the original.
Umbrella by Rihanna was supposed to be for Britney. Just imagine how different that would be, it was supposed to be her comeback single but ended up with Gimme More... which is a brilliant tracK imo. And many songs were written for Justin Timberlake but went to Shayne Ward. Im sure Shayne Ward's "U Got Me So" was meant to be for JT. And Justin's "Like I Love You" was meant to be Michael Jackson's single but MJ had "Rock My World" instead... which is one of my alltime faves. |

There's loads. |
I never knew all of that. When you think about it.. if certain people had different songs, the music world may have changed dramatically by now. I would have loved to have heard Leona's Halo. |
it sounds just like gagas one
|
Yeah all of them, its shocking how different they would sound.
I do think Leona would have done very well with Halo. Wow didnt know about the Taio Cruz ones, i dont think that Break Your Heart would have suited Cheryl at all... Dirty Picture would have, but who would she have collabarated with? Taio? Miss Independant for Christina would have been weird, i guess she wanted to go with something more out there if she picked Fighter. But I do think that the Justin, MJ and Shayne Ward song changes are the most interesting. They were kind of giving Shayne some of the rejected Justin songs. I heard that Sexyback was supposed to be for Shayne as well, not sure if thats true. And im sure a couple of Lady Gaga songs werent made for her to be released. Help me out, wasnt Quicksand from Britney's Circus album supposed to be Lady Gaga's as well? |

As for Dirty Picture - Cheryl would've been the female rather than Ke$ha  Another two I've remembered - 'Umbrella' was offered to Taio Cruz after Britney turned it down, & Alexandra Burke's 'You Broke My Heart' was written by Pixie Lott for her album, but it didn't make the cut. |

Didnt Little Boots write a few songs for people or something? I do think Little Boots is really underrated. "New In Town", "Stuck On Repeat", "Bring It On", "Herarts Collide","Meddle" and "Remedy" are all brilliant. Just a shame she didnt release them all!! |

Sounds exactly the same.

'Umbella' was offered to Mary J. Blidge, too. When they offered it to Britney, she didn't hear of the song, because her stupid label rejected it. |
I dont mind it really. Sounds very similar to Lady Gaga's version tbh.
Interesting turn down song fact. Madonna's La Isla Bonita was first offered to Michael Jackson, before Madonna accepted it and re-wrote the lyrics. Things could of been very different there. Also Justify My Love was originaly from one of Prince's poems he wrote (They were friends at the time and the lyrics are quite different from the poem) |
