Well you never no depends on how well they all sing on saturday night

Had it been up to me, and me alone, Chenai would have stayed a little longer, as would Nicholas, and Chico + Conways would have taken their places, except Chenai would have gone the week Maria went. In turn, Maria would be in the last 4, with Andy coming fifth. I'd have put Shayne fourth, as I honestly don't think he's anything special. Maria 3rd, Brenda 2nd and JS 1st, despite my favourite being Brenda. I think that JS are far more talented and have been slogging it out for ages. Brenda entered on a whim, and she did exceptionally well. *salutes*

I probably want Shayne winning now as I think that he will be the most successful out of the final 3. I wouldnt mind if Journey South won but I dont want Andy to win

texbex 14-12-2005 09:48 AM

poor brenda

BusyBee 14-12-2005 12:32 PM

I like to see someone win who has an ability to sing various types of songs well and unfortunately although Andy can sing ballads well once he gets out of his comfort zone he loses something, so think either Shayne or Journey South should win over him. Cant wait to see how they fare in the next few months with regard to their careers. Going by past experience - will we remember them this time next year?

Sunny_01 14-12-2005 03:58 PM

I have a feeling that now Brenda has gone it will be a tough race between journey south and Shane. Like busy bee said Andy is just not versatile enough to take it ( in my opinion )

Journey south have played a cunning north east card for votes last week though. They put on a free performance at the town hall but it was only going ahead if they got through last week!!!!

CharlotteSometimes 16-12-2005 06:10 AM

They dragged Simon along for that, too. He went on stage to say hello, ate some freaky local 'delicacy' that I've never heard of (the local paper seemed to find that point fascinating), visited their parents, and even nipped into JS' local - to use the bathroom. We've been saved one possible torture, at least. Apparently, they did a cover of The Jam's That's Entertainment, which nobody in their right minds should ever even dream of trying to cover.

I don't know about Andy & Sharon, but Shayne did exactly the same thing this week too, and took Louis along for the ride. Sharon has been busy on her book signing tour, of course. Rumour has it that Shayne was massively ahead last week, when Journey South turned in a better performance on the night. So unless he has a very, very bad night tomorrow, it looks like he has it in the bag.

I still have a feeling that JS could win it - although coming second often proves to be the preferable option!

I heard that votes for Shayne had actually been quite low after the first couple of weeks - but I don't know if that's true or not.

Well apparently, the infamous 'INSIDER!!!' (I have my tongue firmly planted in my cheek as I type) said that Shayne polled more votes than the others by a massive margin last week.

That's internet polls though, not the actual phone votes.

They topped the GMTV poll too

CharlotteSometimes 16-12-2005 11:00 AM

ALL of the bookies have Shayne ahead.

He's very narrowly ahead here. Journey South are ahead here, but that's a more 'adult' site and the number of people that have voted is quite low. Shayne is ahead here, too. I can't find any others.

Shayne topped the Xtra factor poll after saturday night, that's a pretty big indicator imo.

Jay 16-12-2005 11:15 AM

by 1% lol

Ruth 16-12-2005 11:54 AM

It's not always good to be ahead in the polls though. if someone looks really likely to win, the fans of the other contestants will start to vote tons of times. I think this may be why Andy stayed last week - everyone thought he would go, and I reckon that his fans just voted over and over again.

Oh well, we'll know tomorrow anyway:colour:

Z 16-12-2005 05:49 PM

I really don't want Andy or Shayne to win. Neither of them are entertaining. They can sing, but that's the extent of their abilities. Brenda was a performer + a singer. JS are musicians + singers, thus I now want them to win.

CharlotteSometimes 20-12-2005 05:08 AM

Brenda was a one-woman pantomime. Journey South never looked at all comfortable on stage, and the ability to play an instrument or not has nothing at all to do with this show.
