4GB RAM. 1TB hard drive. 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor.

Laptop is a Dell. 3GB RAM. 2.1Ghz Dual Core processor. 213GB hard drive. I can easily run games on the laptop - just not on high graphic settings. Been playing Civilisation V on there.

Nice sec. Stick a better CPU in and it'd run anything.

Ughh! What is Civ 5 like? I really wanna play it!!!

I would buy it but the desktop is too crappy to handle it and there is no set Mac release date. They just told us it will be released eventually. :bored:

4GB should be enough to run most things. If you upgrade what RAM would you go to?

It's alright.. if you like that sort thing. To be honest, strategic games like that are way too complicated for me, although they've made it a bit simpler I think. You can choose to micro-manage or let it handle it all for you which is better for noobs like myself. Only been playing for a few days. Will probably get into it the more I play.

At least 6gig.

I can run pretty much anything, there's just a few games that are a bit laggy on full settings which bug the hell out of me.

Ah cool. From the screenshots I've seen they seem to have really improved it. And dw micromanaging is waaaay to complicated for me as well. It seems to be a much better game anyways :)

I just hate that they take a while to port games to Mac. It sucks.

If you're only using 2 RAM sots you may as well upgrade to 8 GB.

Why? I can't imagine what the average user needs 8 gigs of RAM for. Not only that, but these people are likely running 32bit OS's.

If my laptop sucked Id never go out!

Niamh. 01-10-2010 02:48 PM

probably but for what I use it for it's fine!

Beastie 01-10-2010 02:54 PM

Mine is a Toshiba! It is allright actually. I will be keeping this until it breaks anyway. It's fine but it is not flooded with lots of sh!t yet.

It is a lot better than the sh!tty slow desktop computer. Had that for years. Need a new one!

I've got a MacBook which is 5 years old and still runs perfectly fine, also have a 2 year old Acer laptop which is like a snail, so it's connected to my TV 24/7 and is for download/watching TV shows/movies. XD

It used to suck but I gave it some tender loving (used plenty of downloaded cleaning up softwares, found a way to get default programmes to take less space so it could work faster and save space) and now it's behaving.

I was thinking that he only had two RAM slots used then why put 1 Gig in each spare slot why not put 2 Gig and upgrade from 4 to 8 Gig at only a nominal extra cost.
