A voice of reason at last.

Because the producers wanted to kick Gamu out because of the visa issue (hence she isn't the wildcard) but the editing appears that Cheryl got rid of her because she can't sing.

again...........Cheryl signed up for that.

All being blown out of proportion:rolleyes:, I don't like Cheryl but I agree with her on this because I didn't want Gamu through, tbh I would have wanted TreyC over Katie but i've got over the fact Katie is through now and accepted it:).

Gamu will soon be forgotten when the competition begins!.

Nice conspiracy theory. Even if you're right I say again, Cheryl should simply say she stands by her decision.

don't think they even knew of the 'visa' thing then.

Not ready? Unlike Katie and Cher, you mean, who couldn't even finish their audition??

but to get death threats through the actions of the producers? She didn't sign up for that!

I'm not condoning the death threats at all, the person who did that is either just full of sh*t(most likely) or a complete loon to get so serious over a TV show.

I want to go there, where is it?

Im no big fan of Kate and I have an open mind about Cher...she could sink or swim on the Live shows. But...

It is Cheryls decision who she wants to mentor. Thats the point. Its not about the tastes of others.

And gamu is laughably overrated. Fuss n Nonsense.

I see your points but it just seems the judges house bit is pointless when messing up there doesn't seem to matter.

It doesnt matter!

They make 95% of the decision(if not 100%) based on all the previous footage.

At the end of the day its about how they perform on a stage with an audience...not standing in front of two people in their conservatory.

The judges house bit is just to give the verdict part some substance. Its for show.

I think some of the people who are outraged would have been happy if their favourite had got through despite messing up;). It is Cheryl's choice after all, she went for who she thought has the most potential and what we think doesn't come into place really until voting starts;).

well, even so Katie has messed up 2 out of 3 of her chances so that would tell me that she isn't very good at performing at all!

There is always a huge fuss over something in X factor, at the end of the day, the producers want there to be, it gets the viewing figures up and free publicity.

Exactly which is why last year Simon cynically knew that saving Jedward over Lucie and Danyl constantly getting slagged off would cause controversy because it would cause debates, plus the twins and Danyl were in the papers like every week during the series and the ratings were getting higher and they cared about who is marketable..

The producers were pleased with all that and I think they're rubbing their hands with glee over the fuss Cher is causing and some people getting their knickers in a twist;).

The Jedward thing was a huge example, it was laughable, really, after all the slagging off Simon did about them, then saved them. Incredible. But it got publicity.

He was looking at it from a business side;), maybe he liked the unpredictability and knew that some people who didn't watch the show were tuning in because they heard about all that was going on...

Zippy 08-10-2010 02:57 PM

All Simon cares about is ratings for the show. Not producing a credible winner or even having credible acts.

He uses the show as a vehicle to plug ALL his interests...hence every background song being by one of his artists and most guest artists from his stables. Apart from the big superstar acts, of course.

Its all free HUGE promotion for his empire.

Looking after number 1:D. I've noticed he doesn't bother with Leona much these days.. Alexandra and JLS are doing way better now and successful in their own right:).

Thats what he does. And watch the bank balance go up. Good for him though, he is smart.

It's a good job some of us don't see it as a serious singing competition like some do and can see the way producers are interesteda lot in the business side of things, fair do's to them;).

Not really a fan of Gamu or any of them this year, but any one who thinks Cher should be there instead of Gamu needs their head testing.

How dare fans of Cher have an opinion that she is worthy to get through, how dare some people not like Gamu or preferred others instead of her:p.

The less he has to do with Leona the better from now on. As her Arena (sold out) tour proved recently, she is good enough to move away from the protective shadow of Cowell's attempt to monopolise the music 'scene'.
