Oh I have that book and have read it but I'm happy to refresh and re-read :)

GypsyGoth 02-03-2011 10:15 PM

I'll pick it up, but I prob won't be able to start it until about a weeks time, I'm in the middle of two books and I want to get those out of the way before I start another.

Benjamin 02-03-2011 11:06 PM

So lets say we start reading it next week then? Gives us all time to get hold of the book.

I'm happy with that, also I'm planning on getting it secondhand, what section would it be in?

Kerry 04-03-2011 08:34 PM

Looked for mine last night and can't find the bugger. Found two others of his I have. Hope I haven't got the titles mixed up

Excuse me. I don't think so. And stop trying to cause arguments. Just don't talk to me if you don't like me.

Kerry 05-03-2011 03:12 AM

Found it :D Wow, didn't even realise I had more than a couple of his

I'm going to start reading it today, now that somebody else has the book.

Lee. 09-03-2011 11:10 AM

I'll start in the next couple of days :)

GypsyGoth 09-03-2011 08:31 PM

I'll start it tomorrow.

Kerry 10-03-2011 10:45 PM

Started it again last night. Very strange re-reading a book after just a few weeks but it's already proving quite interesting to do so. Not sure how long I'll be as I'm reading an autobiog too. Are we discussing once everyones finished or speaking in spoilers about it as we read?

Benjamin 10-03-2011 10:54 PM

Speak in spoilers would be ok I reckon if you state which chapter it is. How does everyone else feel about that?

GypsyGoth 10-03-2011 10:56 PM

Sure, I finished the first chapter earlier, and am I the only one who wants to...

Spoiler:

kill Laura Ayers, she is soo ****ing perfect despite her boo-boo childhood

Kerry 10-03-2011 11:13 PM

I'm happy with spoilers while we all read :)

I want to head butt her, but I sense I will grow to love her.

Niamh. 11-03-2011 09:22 AM

I literally only read about 10 pages so far, I'll start it properly tonight

Niamh. 11-03-2011 09:22 PM

ok, I've read the first 3 chapters now

Spoiler:

hhhmmmm, so far the fact that every second line is describing how good looking everyone is("my husband is dead but look how shiny my hair is", is annoying. and yes Claudia I too would like to kill Laura!

Kerry 11-03-2011 09:58 PM

Upto chapter 2

Spoiler:

Read the first chapter and it's annoying me. More than the first time around anyway

Lee. 11-03-2011 10:31 PM

Christ! Is it crap??

I'm going to start it tomorrow.

Don't hold it against me if I've just made you read a pile of ****!

I'm only 3 chapters in so the story hasn't really kicked off yet, I'm not going to write it off just yet!

I'm enjoying it because it's very different to what I normally read.

I'm enjoying reading it but Laura is an annoying woman so far. If it turns out to be rubbish we'll have a group vote to ban you from TiBB. ;)

Niamh. 14-03-2011 09:25 AM

I'm on to chapter 21 now

Spoiler:

I'm getting into it now, like Kerry said it is a bit far fetched, like for example Stan attacking and almost raping Laura, what does she do? ..........nothing, call the police? No. Tell her sister who is dating him? No. I don't see the logic there at all, I mean she thinks it's better to let her fragile sister, who has previously been the victim of violence and rape with a violent man and a potential rapists, rather than hurt her feelings??? I don't get it. Also, Laura isn't annoying me that much anymore, Serita her best friend really annoys me now instead, I'd love to punch her. And that line they keep saying through the book really annoys me, "You're a good friend" "The Best" lol. right, I sound like I hate the book, but I actually don't, yeah, it's a tad far fetched and the whole storyline is a bit obvious (I think) but at the same time I'm still curious to know whether or not my suspicions are correct. So, I'm just going with it and enjoying the ride!

Lee. 14-03-2011 09:32 AM

Chapter 21?! Bloody hell! I've not even started it yet.
I'll start it tonight:)

yeah, I'm always the same when I start a book, I have to know the ending of it, I'm hoping to finish it tonight:joker:

Niamh. 15-03-2011 10:09 PM

Ok, I've finished it (is anyone else even reading it???)

Spoiler:

ok, well, I'll steal Kerrys phrase one more time - very, very far fetched sums it all up really, especially the bit about James aborting the baby and making Mary pregnant again and her having the baby 2 months late without her realising lmao. Also, that surgeon who changed Davids face hahaha they need to employ him asap for people who really need it like burn victims etc! anyway, It was still enjoyable, I did believe it was Mary all along so it had a bit of a surprise element after all! Over all I'd rate it 5/10

GypsyGoth 15-03-2011 10:10 PM

I'm on chapter 7. I'll hopefully be finished this weekend.

Kerry 16-03-2011 01:36 AM

I stopped reading it. I was remembering it too much to enjoy it. I did the first time, to a point, though agree with what Niamh says above.

Spoiler:

I'd stretch to 6/10 at best. It's quite a silly book though keeps you wondering I suppose

oh also :

Spoiler:

The bit about Stan witnessing his fathers murder, he was 10 years old but he used to sneak into his fathers office to play..........at the college.............how did he get there?..........shouldn't he have been at school?........and if not wouldn't his mother be wondering where he was? and after his father was shot, how did he sneak away without anyone noticing?

GypsyGoth 20-03-2011 10:00 PM

I managed to get half way through. I'm sure I'll finish it in the next few days, that is if I don't accidentally drop it in the bath.

Spoiler:

I find it too unbelievable, the fantasy books I usually read are far more likely to happen than this, anyway having said that I'm sorta enjoying it, it's like watching a badly acted movie.

The idea that someone can change their face and play for the same team is preposterous, I mean wouldn't he have the exact same body, wouldn't someone just be able to compare a picture of him now to one before he died, and don't those guys all shower in the nude with each other after they play.

And that part where the bank manager realised that David was supposedly dead when he carried out the money transaction. Surely the bank guy would have called the police straight away. I mean it became a criminal fraud once he realize he gave out money from someone's account when they were supposedly dead.

Also not only do I hate Laura, I now hate her whole bloody family.

And the way TC has all this info about Stan (the scumbag brother) and he doesn't tell Laura until after he has wormed his way into their lives, what type of friend would do such a thing.

There are other things that have been bugging me, but my fingers are getting tired typing.

And I'm just at chapter 16, Laura is about to head back to Australia. I'm going to read more tonight :amazed:
