I am to watch this tomorrow.

ILoveTRW 28-04-2011 06:57 PM

Get the tissues ready lads

Kate will be stepping onto our screens in about 9 hours time

Lee. 29-04-2011 12:53 AM

I said earlier I bet the lot are having one large street piss up

Kerry 29-04-2011 01:20 AM

Saw on the news earlier that people from Australia and America (amongst other countries) had flown over and were camped in the streets. It's absolutely barmy!

Jords 29-04-2011 01:37 AM

Today! Im not too bothered tbh, might watch if Im up.

Kerry 29-04-2011 03:56 AM

Just started to rain in London apparently

Awww. All these sunny days and it decided to piss

Callum 29-04-2011 06:24 AM

Looks dull and grey in London right now, hope it doesn't rain for them.

Ach it could be worse..... they could be getting married today in the Algarve where it's been deafening thunder and lightning, peeing down from the heavens for the last 1.5 hours and due to stay that way all day !!!

Actually quite chuffed - means I don't feel guilty sitting inside whilst watching on the widescreen in a pub !! Every cloud has indeed a silver lining.

Didn't think I'd bother but looking forward to watching it now.

You'll get refused re-entry back into Scotland with that attitude young lady :joker:

I remember Charles and Di's one being a nightmare as it was on every one of the 4 (?) existing channels of the era. At least with the advent of multi-channel TV, there's a good chance I'll be able to avoid it entirely

LOL - I was buying a birthday card for a friend yesterday - I think that Clinton Cards might have misjudged the amount of stock of flags/bunting/silly hats they needed to send to their shops up here! There was not a last-minute rush to buy the stuff up

A male not interested in weddings or loving the Monarchy - double whammy for me today!

Hope you have a good bev anyway Pyr

Aye, the Scots aren't really big on the outdoor Royal Party thing at all........ really isn't my style either. Seeing the sun creeping out now, I may find that my plans change! I'll be seeing it in every newspaper for the next fortnight.

I may well toast to your sanity in a short while - enjoy!

*wonders if James Hewitt received an invite!!!* sniggers:hugesmile:.

Claymores 29-04-2011 08:53 AM

We have something that many countries would love to have........ of course it's over the top.

didn't realise the Queen was 85 !! (Jings, that's what a priviledged life does for you).

Had to giggle at the 4 busloads of 'extended royal family' being driven out of the palace grounds... !!

Stacey. 29-04-2011 09:44 AM

If your going to moan and gripe, can we get a wee respite, at least till the ceremony is over???

I'm no Royalist but I do enjoy the pomp and ceremony - let's enjoy it for a short while eh?

Niamh. 29-04-2011 09:51 AM

My daughter was glued to the telly earlier, don't know where I got her from:bored:

I wasnt really moaning, just questioning that statement. Plus I'm tired, hungover and my house is full of Royalists, hasnt put me in the best mood :p

Pyramid* 29-04-2011 09:52 AM

psml at the BBC commentator: camera shows a shot of Kate's clevage: "It's a limited view, but a delightful view".

What a gaff!!!!!

She looks so beautiful  *dies*

Pyramid* 29-04-2011 10:14 AM

She's lovely, her dress is gorg.

What's old Camilla done to her top lip....she's had it filled or something - it's like a bird's beak....... wait to the next close up shot and clock it - looks weird. :conf:

Wonders what size Kate and Pippa are - they look about a size 6 or something - they are tiny (bearing in mind that TV puts nearly a stone on you)..... they're so lithe.

Niamh. 29-04-2011 10:15 AM

Just had a look at her dress, it's gorgeous, I especially love her veil and lack of 20ft train!

It's a bit unusual that her bridesmaid is in white too

the whole look is stunning I have to say. Not OTT, no overflowing crinkley dress, no real 'extravagant' (i know I know) look: but the whole thing - it's been wonderfully thought out.

She's elegant looking. It's the whole idea of a commoner marrying into royalty. We've come a long way since Wallis Simpson days - yet it was only a few generations ago.

Something terribly sad that Di isn't there - I found it a bit awkward watching Camilla as she entered with Charles, standing with the Queen and Prince Philip.

Novo 29-04-2011 10:23 AM

They are both the perfect size

Well, it's definitely a more classic dress than Dianas was, it will age alot better.

I'm still not 100% on the difference between a commoner and not a commoner lol

My own understanding is that Royal families married into other Royal families to strengthen their allegiances ...... ie: British Royal Family marrying into another Royal family (eg: Swedish) would strengthen the allegiances between both set of Royals and toward countries. Was the old fashioned way of retaining 'power' - but it's not been enforced strictly for decades.
