I applied but I put an asterisk on this - I was HOPING (against fading hopes) this was a completely different Big Brother. Maybe even a 'purist' and adult next-generation social experiment.

I'm still withholding judgements but I'm starting to suspect it is 'Models and Transvestites' in Teen Summer Pool Party all over again :(

But still hoping this will be something new.

Well judging by the facebook site I'd love to see some of those characters getting in. :)

People on here, and on the facebook page have been telling porkies about callbacks.

3 people lied about callbacks, one has admitted to lying, one is brazening it out and the other is unusually silent.

It's quite sad really, and I don't see it endearing them to the producers much.

Well people did get email invitations to apply at the Open Auditions. These seem to be 'auto-replies' but I think for them this is what they consider a 'Call Back'.

As far as actual phone-calls?
My understanding is that a number of BB11 people were contacted and even in 'negotiations' well before (and apart) from the general public auditions.

And how is THIS '5' doing things? Are we so sure its the same recruiters and casting people using the same methods?

I had a phone call yesterday inviting me to the 18th June date.

It did say in the email I got today. Which everyone got. That some of us will be lucky enough to get a call and jump the queue. This just means getting to round 2 straight away which is a questionnaire. Only a few pages and like a 5 minute interview. If they are more interested in you then you get to the 3rd round which is apparently a massive application form which takes you a few hours to complete apparently :S

I got an email telling me about the open auditions.

My friend had a phone call inviting her to the auditions and allowing her queue jump too, so I don't know what that stuff about people not being contacted yet is about.

When was she contacted?

Earlier today.

People got the email today. I reckon they did start call backs today or even a few days ago! It's only to queue jump. People are having a heart attack over it! lol

It is not Channel 4 Big Brother (and some here seem to think it is exactly the same as always),
but,
I do know people were contacted, by phone, and by meetings in previous seasons OUTSIDE the standard route and schedules and often well before any public announcements.

So I can't go around calling anyone a liar here. You never know for sure.

After the way endthemall/C4 did the castings, I'm surprised that people even bother. If you're not a freak with an agent it seems your chances of getting-in are very limited.
