I used to watch big brother for the psychological impacts, fusions and also the general comedy involved when people start to become irritated. I have just signed up to have my say. I found this site after a simple google around 3 minutes into the show after i heard the awful music editing and flashbacks to stuff i have already seen! This channel has killed any psychological interests of mine, i can not get to know the people when all i can see is a highlights show containing what i saw yesterday! This is awful programme design and planning. The music and name tags ar awful. I am struggling to find anything that is ositive. It's dire, and i really loved BB before. I hope i speak for the masses not the minority. That's my 2 pence worth. Enjoy the show people :).

Say goodbye to those classic moments of unintentional hillarity the the show was full of. Now they will be put in black and white with obnoxious car advert music or simply skipped over altogether.

Shades of deja vu! this is just a rehash of clips that have been broadcast in the last 3 days!
|
The last time i checked, putting 10 people in a house with camera's and evicting them, was not part of real life.
|
Oh for Christ sake it's new and fresh and I love it! This isn't old BB It's an entire new show! Embace it! It's not all thatdifferent from the ch4 version!
Sick of all the negativity! Like REALLY sick of it! |
Sucks for you, holmes. This is a discussion forum. If the majority of us are negative it means the majority of us don't like it and vice versa.
|
Why is anyone suprised? They did this in BB11 too.

To settle for this means you never appreciated BB in the first place. |

I'd rather continually watch the BB5-7 style of show until the end of time even if it meant it became a niche show on at late night for a cult audience of 1-2 million people.

I officially give up with Celebrity Big Brother. The only thing that truly remains in the name, people living in a house and getting evicted and something (Big Brother) controlling them. Big Brother is now like every other Americanized unoriginal "reality" show. I cannot immerse myself into this style. I wanna be able to get into the raw atmosphere of the house, because 1 minute of that is so much more worthwhile than a 2 minute, edited, stylized version.
I'm hoping it'll be gone or significantly toned down for BB12. if not, then I'm officially lost as a fan. It saddens me to say, but it's true. =/ |

You really are something simple aren't you. |
American reality shows have gameplay and stuff actually happening, which makes the stylised editing bearable. On a British show like BB that's just about forming relationships, it's horrible - I can't see how it'll work without famous names unless the cast is absolutely stellar.
|
Hey Stu, still playing nice I see lol. How the hell are you?

It's good to see you. How's things? |
Was a little bit weird at the start but for some bits it was quite cool and by the end I really liked it. Brings a fresh approach to the show and I think that all they need to do is tone it down a little bit and then it'll just be a nice little addition.
|
It is all terrible and I will have certainly lost interest by midweek unless they realize they are destroying the show and take it back to how it is supposed to be done. And the commentator is a complete joke now.

Wasn't impressed

Absolutely terrible! I'm watching it now on Sky+ Ch5 have really ****ed up worse than I tought they could of. The music, the flashbacks and the names on screen are awful.
|
I am gutted, i cant see myself watching this crap anymore
The music make's me so angry as i want to know what there saying, and i want to get to know them! It's Day 3 and normally ill know them pretty well by now, but the editing just gets rid of that |
Will Channel 5 ever do anything right??

I'm going to give it a few more days, but to be honest I just can't keep my interest in it. I hate hate hate incidental music in any TV programme and the flashbacks are just wasting time that should be used to show us whats been happening in the last 24 hours. Channel 5 must think we all must have memory impairments if we can't remember watching Kerry's tantrum which they've shown us at least 5 times already or other clips we only saw yesterday.
The 'Last time on BB' and 'coming up on BB' segments are a waste of time too. If we are being restricted to 50 minutes of HLs a day, it should be all HL's, not repeated clips! Don't like the face flashes between scenes either. Ugh, I was so hopeful when I saw the house, I thought it looked amazing and that c5 had put alot of money into it and would make channel 4 look pathetic, but this isn't the BB I fell in love with and I don't know if I'll be watching much longer :( |
The problem is that they have tried to mimmick the way American reality shows are edited. It doesn't work for our Big Brother!
I loved Big Brother UK because it allowed scences to just play out with little interferrance from production. The difference between this and the C4 version is the difference between Kichen Nightmares UK and USA. One is a camera crew following Gordon as he tries to help a buisness. The other is full of "reinactments" and generall scripting. I guess we should have expected this. C4 have a style (Come Dine with me, the Ramsey UK shows) And Five have a more "sleak" style. It's just not one I like. I think the people who do like it are those who like other American reality shows. Big Brother UK felt unique to those, now thats gone. No longer is it a trend setter, now its one of the herd. |
I like it!
|
yur get me tho! This needs to GTFOH
Hopefully this is a test and trial for them and when the normal BB starts theyll realize the error. Just doesn't work. BB is not an MTV show. |
Big Brother has not been Americanised! Almost every popular reality show I've ever seen from any country within the past 2ish years have used this style of production. It's just the modern way of doing things and this isn't going to change because it's the easiest way to attract new viewers and hold onto ratings. Whether the core fans like it or not, this year BB has been far more popular than I can ever remember since BB7. I've been hooked again and being brutally honest, since the end of BB8 I hadn't seen any of BB:CH, CBB7, CBB8 and far less than half of BB9 - UBB. Now, I feel like I don't want to miss an episode. It's easy to follow and if I missed a few episodes then I probably won't feel like I might as well give up watching. Anything like BB that has gone on for over a decade on TV has had to reinvent itself to prolong its natural life.

Some of the new editing is okay... as Gavin Henderson said, he is trying to drag in the "casual viewers"... so if someone only watches once a week, they will still know what is going on from 6 or 7 days ago..
The names are beginning to annoy me now. I think they might be handy for the normal version? I'm awful with names, but with the celebrity version, we know who everyone is now. The flashbacks are annoying me, but again, those are there for the casual viewers. I saw all that the day before, so they're annoying me. The new editing is just pissing me off if I'm perfectly honest, but I can deal with it. The things I really do hate and want to explode when I see them is the names and the flashbacks. |
