I thought you never watched their edits on CBB Zippy, I thought you said you did other things when they were on so as not to see them at all, you seem to know more as to what they do than I do and I am a fan.

thats a silly desperate point. I watch the show and therefore its hard to avoid them.

You really need to stop taking every word so literally. I dont literally jump up and look for something to do when they appear. I just browse my laptop or re-arrange my scatter cushions.

I stopped watching that series of CBB because of Pete Burns!

The whole appeal (for want of a better word) of Jedward is that they live in a little world of their own which is largely unaffected by anyone else. This is so, so far as their act is concerned, but they are now rich enough to carry on that way in real life too. They have amassed enough never to have to work again.

It is pointless saying 19yr olds should be like this or that. It's a bit like saying a 50yr old shouldn't have Alzheimer's - but, sadly, some do!

Jedward's age is irrelevant except they have earned more by 19 than most people on here will earn by the time they retire!

I have a sneaky feeling ENVY comes into Jed-hate. ;)

He adores them really, underneath it all! :joker:

(Or envies them).

MTVN 29-08-2011 03:58 PM

Envy? Really? Is it not possible that people just find them irritating as hell?

Stu 29-08-2011 04:00 PM

Being on the forum as it is will saturate your brain with any instance involving Jedward. I really hate this idea that you are somehow contradicting yourself by exposing yourself to or talking about people or things you hate. It's almost as piss weak an argument as 'you only hate them coz they have more money than you'.

Spacker arguments.

Zippy 29-08-2011 04:01 PM

Jedward are rich, everybody is envious of them...blah blah blah!

change the effing record ffs. I can tell you for a 1000% fact Im not remotely jealous. Just pissed off that theyve hijacked a favourite show of mine and made it a total kiddy snoozefest.

And I can say hand on heart that I can't remember watching one single show theyve been in since XF. If they guest on a show I just dont watch.

InOne 29-08-2011 04:01 PM

Whenever Jedward fans can't think of owt to say they always go on about money and how we're "jealous" :joker: It's a stupid argument and proves you defending them for the sake of defending them

lol, I hate that reason, are people actually jealous of TV personalities that they've never met? I don't think so

I do think envy of success, measured in money terms, is a factor. The other factor is envy of the attention they get from girls in the age group which may the target of the envier - if you get my drift! ;)

I.e. much the same as hatred of Justin Bieber.

InOne 29-08-2011 04:04 PM

Do you hang pictures of him on the inside of your wardrobe too?

I like Jedward but this is a weak argument. I find it very hard to believe that that's the reason why people don't like Jedward. As much as I like them, I can see why people would find them annoying.

Vicky. 29-08-2011 04:07 PM

Why can noone ever dislike someone without being jealous?

Its a ridiculous argument that pops up year after year. Except usually its 'everyone who dislikes *insert random pretty but bitchy girls name here* is jealous'

No, they're on the outside! :joker: (Not bothered about JB one way or the other actually).

But, I will bet that the great majority of those who dislike Jedward also dislike Justin Bieber. ;)

See, this is why I love Niamh

she at least views things from different perspectives. Anybody who can't see why many would find them annoying must be seriously obsessed or deluded.

Indeed.

And all the, for example 'all welsh people must vote for glyn'

As if people vote based just on where they come from. And if they do, its sad :bored:

That's different, (true though)

Anyway I like Johnny Logan!:joker:

Stu 29-08-2011 04:15 PM

At least Logan won us Eurovision. That man is a national treasure.

Niamh. 29-08-2011 04:17 PM

Attention, Attention : I DON'T LIKE JOHNNY LOGAN

Now, stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

Oh really? ;) The chap who threw eggs at JB at a recent concert was 17 as I recall.

Somehow both Jedward and Bieber make certain groups (mainly young/youngish males) feel threatened in some way. I have suggested a couple of types of envy: it may not be quite the right word but perhaps more a feeling of inadequacy, viz. "Why should those two be getting so much attention and money when I don't and I'm about the same age as them... etc".

Yes, Jedward can be annoying - nobody can doubt that. But there people with FAR more annoying traits and we don't seem to get quite as worked up about it, do we? :)

Wasn't staging the following year's Eurovision the start of the downward spiral into bankruptcy?:joker:

You seem to be looking far too deep into things :joker:

People don't like them, there doesn't have to be much of a reason behind it

In your opinion. In reality, its probably just a case of them disliking them.

I dont get the Bieber hate tbh...but each to their own.

I can totally understand it with jedward though at the minute...its not like they are just getting on with their life, doing concerts etc like Bieber does, they have put themselves forward for scrutiny, and are getting it. But some people seem unable to accept the fact that others might just dislike them because they are acting like little brats, instead insisting that there must be an element of envy there.

jesus christ hold me back!

has it occured to you that we just dont find them remotely interesting or entertaining and resent them being shoved in our face?

I envy people with TALENT. Not lucky chancers.

Bieber hysterical type fame(and Jedward are not in his league, frankly) is my worst nightmare so I most certainly do not envy it!

Many people disliked my fave band a few years back...busted(dont judge me :nono: ). They were a bit like jedward, hyper, annoying, young etc etc.

I never once accused anyone of being jealous of them. Just accepted that people have different tastes :/

Hmmmm, a bit different though. Even though Busted were annoying they made quite good pop songs and at least weren't a product of X Factor
