High Court to rule on illegal travellers' site

He said the protesters were "heavily outnumbered by the police".

"They have met with a lot of resistance here. Stones have been thrown, we've seen Tasers deployed," he said.

He added: "Police quickly moved through the site to the main gate once they had gained entry as this was the most important point. Bailiffs and heavy machinery have to come on to the site through this barricaded gate.

"There are people chained to it and about 25 activists on the overhead gantry who are determined to stay there, they say."

A "professional protester" :laugh: This whole thing is a mess tbh, constant appeals and court cases have been going on for a decade, it should have been settled years ago, whilst I'm not saying they should get special privileges or anything there is a shortage of legal traveller sites in the country which is a problem that needs to be confronted

It was only a matter of time. Its time for the council to start to play dirty. They want to get all of the MOTs, tax and insurance on the vans and caravans checking, and removing any that are invalid whilst fining the owners.

The way the gypsys keep going on about how they haven't been offered alternative accommodation is ridiculous. They have and they refused it.

Whilst it's a shame to see good housing go to ruin - I have no sympathy at all for WIMPEY.

They have all the money the need to ensure they stay on the right side of the Law and it's nice to see the Law being applied fairly when they don't.
