I've moved it to Serious Debates and News anyway, because it's not really "General Chat"

Each to their own. I got upset at this thread and there is no doubt that different people find other things worse. That's why I'm saying there should be a tag or something so that people can hide the type of threads they don't like.

I know we live in a horrible society, it's one of the things I think about all day. I just don't want to be reminded of it here.

Some are saying that you shouldn't read it. Well how can I avoid it if it's in a thread title?

I'm not sure how this story could be described any other way though, I've tried but I can't think what the title could say that gives an indication as to what the thread's about without being too explicit

Well this is the first thread I've made regarding an animal cruelty case, don't see myself making another one in future but if I was to, I'd put [May cause offence] in the title like I've added now so that people who do not wish to see have been warned. Can't do no more than that, don't think specific threads can be unviewable to all members who hate reading about anything animal cruelty.

Have to agree with everything you've said here - and in your decision to move it to the Serious Debates side.

Life isn't all a bundle of fun - if people don't want to venture into the Serious side of the forum as it most likely will contain things that aren't quite fluffy, light and bright all the time, - I think it's totally reasonable to place the thread there - and those who don't wish to view such threads that are of a serious nature such as this - don't need to venture into that section of the forum..

Black Dagger 03-12-2011 11:07 PM

I can't dare watch the video, the pictures were graphic enough.

Benjamin 03-12-2011 11:08 PM

I will not be watching this video, I really don't need to see that kind of cruelty to animals.

Livia 03-12-2011 11:13 PM

Posting the story for comment is one thing. I'm sure I don't know anyone who would want to watch the video.

Scarlett. 03-12-2011 11:14 PM

I saw pictures of this one the Daily Mail website...horrible, and haunting

joeysteele 03-12-2011 11:15 PM

Totally gross, I hope he is found and gets a heavy penalty. What a rotten thing to do.

I watched it and as much as it's not nice (at all) to watch - it isn't quite as gruesome as what (I) imagined it could be....... though I've got a very strong stomach, the fact it happened in a domestic situation is what has made it so awful.

Wildlife clips are far worse in visual content - the horrible thing here is that there simply was no need for the guy to be using a kitten in the first place (never mind the rest).

I agree with this, a video of it in the wild wouldn't bother me at all, its the fact there was human intervention. I don't want to see the video though

Lee. 03-12-2011 11:24 PM

I'm not going to watch the video as I can't believe somebody would film such a thing..

However, I used to keep boa constrictors for a while and the worst part of it was one of them would only eat live food :(

I would never ever have fed him a kitten though! And I certainly wouldn't film it! It's the most disgusting thing ever!

InOne 03-12-2011 11:52 PM

Apparently he has more video's. Like putting cats in plastic bags and stuff

Many serial killers start the same way..... I'd love to be given a day in a room alone with this arsehole. In fact, 15 minutes would do it but I'd like to drag out a bit, let him suffer.

Livia 04-12-2011 12:00 AM

Oh, I think this bloke has some Karma coming. I hope it's excrutiating.

Liberty4eva 04-12-2011 01:46 AM

People can be sadistic. I have a legality question on the whole cruelty against animals. The python must eat something but I'm guessing it would normally be eating rats and that would be perfectly legal. So, at least in the eyes of the law, cat and dog life is more important than rat life?

The Mail article says the person could get 6 months in jail if convicted, and another thing, it's also illegal to eat dog meat in the UK so I guess they do consider cat and dog life more important yeah

I hate when snakes eat live food in general. We own a reptile shop and its horrid when we get live rats/mice in to feed them. I stay well out of the way but I just hate the idea that the rat/mouse has no chance. In the wild its at a major disadvantage but at least there is a slight opportunity of escape.

Onto the video, I havnt watched it (think its unavailable now anyway), but its really sickening just because of how unnatural it is. A cute little kitten which would never be a prey in the wild totally unaware of the danger it is in. Awful. I do reckon though hes not 'sadistic' but just loves his snake so much and thinks its really cool how it works... deranged perhaps because he felt the need to test how itd tackle a kitten though

Didn't watch the video because I know It'll upset me. For those who can't watch the video I found an old video clip that is about cats and is a little saddistic... but funny. It's a guilty pleasure.
