I'd watch it if he does. He could be the next Orton. Remember I said that.

Brother Leon 14-04-2012 04:22 PM

Didn't you ask them if they had a warrant to do so?

Shaun 14-04-2012 04:23 PM

Yeah they had a warrant and court order, but it was a bogus tipoff LOL

That would be an amazing play.

Shaun lies asleep in bed naked, quilt rolled up showing a bit of a$$. Downstairs Shaun's distressed mother is speaking to a policeman, whilst a policewoman rushes upstairs to confront Shaun.

Bitchy Policewoman: GET DRESSED PLZ WE NEED TO SEARCH THIS ROOM
Shaun: omg k

Shaun stretches. The policewoman leaves the room whilst Shaun gets dressed, she looks approving of the naked butt. Shaun retreats downstairs and she begins searching the room, to no success, returning downstairs.

Bitchy Policewoman: K. Wrong house.
Shaun's Mum: Done?
Policeman: Yes, we apologize for this inconvenience.
Bitchy Policewoman: Yeah soz.
Shaun:

If that happened to me and I was sleeping nude I would die on the spot omg.

CharlieO 14-04-2012 10:08 PM

I don't get why everyone is complaining. They are the police, if there was suspicion they have a right to check. No harm was done so get over it.

Shaun 14-04-2012 10:13 PM

kk will do thx charlie luv ya try not to die x

CharlieO 14-04-2012 10:15 PM

How awful. This happened to my mate when I was like 15. On christmas eve...they ripped apart all the toys and everything, her and her brother (who was like 8) were terrified. Was meant to be next doors that got searched...her mum got an apology and thats it, didnt even pay compensation for the stuff that they broke. Xmas ruined totally :bored:

Pyramid* 15-04-2012 03:16 PM

It's all the more awful especially for you all given what's happened in the past.

The police in attendence were only doing what they were instructed though - they followed orders but it's still a terrible thing to experience all the same.

Absolutely disgusting. I'd have been livid.

I don't really know much about what happens on these police searches...but I think that if they've trashed your property looking for something and they don't find it, they should have to clear it up (I'm assuming they don't) and then compensate you a small amount, or more should they have damaged anything. Seems fair to me.

They do pay compensation to repair broken doors, smashed windows, wrecked walls etc. I just read a piece which stated in 2008 the police force (nationwide) shelled out £560,000 in compensation for raiding wrong addresses.

Interesting. I wonder how long this has been happening for. The raid on my mates house was like 10 years ago now and they got nothing at all. I mean, they had not much money anyway so the stuff they broke/ripped wasnt worth much but thats really not the point.

Hm...fair enough I guess. Still think they should have to tidy up though if they don't of course.

I think it's disgusting that no compensation was given. This happened through no fault of their own so why should they lose out when they had done nothing wrong? Apparently to sue the police a claim must come within a "cause of action". The main causes are:

Assault
False Imprisonment
Wrongful Arrest
Malicious Prosecution
Trespass
Trespass to Goods
Negligence
Misfeasance in Public Office
Human Rights

I suppose such a matter would come under trespass/negligence. I do not know how long the claim laws have been in place though.

Shaun 15-04-2012 04:43 PM

Yeah they didn't cause any damage or anything so it was alright really, found it more funny than anything.
