Once you accept that government isn't going to kick your asses, then you have to acknowledge that you no longer need arms to protect yourselves from government tyranny. |

If you don't like what the government does, then vote, but being a gun owner will have no influence on your government, or your personal say in matters. I'm not saying your government is great, or even functional with crazy republicans who can't even pass their own bills when they are in the majority. Here's a question, how many times have your population been forced to take up arms against the government since independence? |
The NRA are a sad and dangerous anachronism. They perpetuate the worst in the American psyche.

This is ludicrous. How dare he, the president of what's effectively a gun appreciation society try to shift blame onto the media. The people who are part of the NRA are the people that cause these shootings in America. They're the idiots that support the second amendment no matter how many people get shot from the lax gun controls it enforces.
Though the media may come into it partially, the NRA are bigger problem than the media could ever hope to be. |
..to me, saying that things like this are contributed to video games in any way is similar to saying that he ate a lot of bread, so it must have been the wheat that did it...I know that's not the same thing at all, as some people do contribute video games as 'desensitising' people...but I personally feel that these things are contributed to a chemical inbalance in the brain, which could be triggered by anything..or nothing..it could be the smallest, seemingly insignificant thing that triggers them...the brain is very complex...I don't think we'll ever fully understand what goes on inside people's heads or the cause of it, so when we don't understand things, there's a tendency to start 'laying blame'....
