The apology for a mistimed clap i could believe but not after the hours they spent in bed laughing & taking the p out of the fact Claire did not get her letter.
It most likely dawned on them how it would look to the public.

EXACTLY this^

Pretty much this, yeah. I have to say though, if the other HMs buy it, they're pretty damn stupid. I'm liking every single one in that house less and less by the minute now, because if it's one thing I can't stand it's fake and/or cowardly people. Stick to your guns!

No need to be rude, there was no need for them to do it in the first place ,you can put your spin on the 'clapping' all you want ,why do people clap? usually because they are pleased with something.

I believe Heidi explained why she did it, it wasn't to upset Claire and I believe that, it wasn't at all how Rylan said it was. he made out she went and clapped right in Claires face which didn't happen.

CaudleHalbard 22-01-2013 10:02 AM

It's all part of the Speidi game. I doubt they have a shed of genuine remorse.

Jake. 22-01-2013 10:03 AM

No matter why they did, there was no need to clap in that situation. It was always going to come across as rude.

No,she didn't do it in her face ,but I still think it was uncalled for and rude.

It was bad timing for sure but I do believe her explanation for why she clapped and I do believe Rylan was the one who made the situation as bad as it became

I just think Rylan is that sort of character, over the top,and dramatic,he's the same with everything:joker:I guess that is why some people like him.

After the annoucement it was Rylan and the other HM's who first reacted ridiculously, they were boo'ing and Rylan was whinging as usual. That was when Heidi started to clap in annoyance I think and Spencer got along when Rylan told Heidi off.

Speidi had been saying all the time and just before they went in the dining room to do the task that "Its only a game".

If I were Speidi I wouldn't stop clapping, and I would go near Rylan and clap on his face, it was Rylan who was horrible I don't know why people cant see what really happened. A lot of people are just noticing the clapping but not what made them clapped.

I would also blame Tricia for sorting the letters, it backfired on her for being selfish, she should be the one apologizing.

If speidi are 'so great' like most claim.. why did they not just apologise there and then ?? we know why really because they realised it's the last week and they need to lick arse to get the votes...am sure when the HMs wander off and leave them in peace. spencer & heidi's barrage of 'we meant to clap it was funny' will continue.. *sigh*

Marcus. 22-01-2013 10:57 AM

well done for them for doing that

i'd be wary of anybody in that house. it is BB after all.

whether it was real or not, the apology. i guess nobody ever heard its better late than never.

im sure we all had mishaps with people we love or friends with and it took a while for an apology.

Agreed Slevin,it is better late then never as long as it's heartfelt,in this case I'm not so sure:hugesmile:

they nominated her because of what she said about them when they were in the basement. But i don't think they hold a grudge. And the fact that they said sorry to her proves it.

Day 19: Heidi apologies for clapping

It was the clap that caused a House of strife, and tonight, Heidi has finally come clean about that ill-timed hand movement.

Chatting to the housemates in the kitchen, Heidi admitted that she hadn't meant to cause offence with her reaction. She reasoned that she just got caught up in everyone clapping and that her response was a gesture to show that she was supporting her marriage and their decision not to be separated for a task.

"I was clapping our decision to stick together, as I thought we'd be separated for days like the basement task... I didn't think about what I was doing at the time", she offered to the group.Explaining why he clapped along with his wife, Spencer rationalised that he knew Heidi hadn't meant to clap and that he was just backing her up, "We're in the same boat. We gotta go down together".

Apologising profusely to Claire and telling all who would listen that the situation had been misconstrued, Heidi stated, "You think you're in a game, but you're not" adding, "I've got the worst timing..."

Lucky for them, the housemates are a pretty forgiving bunch, as they whole-heartedly accepted the couple's apology. Even Rylan, who was the most vocal after the clap-incident, said how glad he was to clear the air, saying he just wants to leave the House with everyone talking.

"We're all human beings, we should be talking to each other" Tricia gushed, before awkwardly hugging the pair and professing that they were both 'lovely people'.

We know what you're thinking - what a turn out for the books! We certainly didn't think we'd see a untied, happy House again, but there we go...

Is it too cynical for us to ask how long it'll last?

This is how most astute Spiedi fans interpreted her clapping :pipe:, Rylan just wanted airtime and starting bawling in their faces and lying about them clapping at Claire crying. She was mouthing to him that "it was fine" for about five minutes but he kept going and going like a nodding dog until he set her off..:joker:

wahhh How old is he, mental age of six I would say. What a prick. A lot of the time you can tell by Heidis forced smile that she is just going along with it to humour him. I feel sorry for her

I knew Speidi weren't clapping about Claire. Shame on Rylan for jumping to conclusions. :nono:

Ah well, at least they said sorry I suppose.

No, if they needed to "lick arse to get votes" they would have done the task in the first place or they would have apologised straightaway. The reason they didn't was because of Ry-I'm to big for this place to stay in here 24/7 but I'm not a celbrity-lan making a big scene and getting the wrong idea.

Really he should apologise to Heidi and Claire for his outburst.

Firstly, it wasn't rude...because it wasn't about Claire, Heidi clapped because of the task, (and everybody already knew that they hadn't done their task) it was not. Because of Claire not getting her letter, then Rylan tells her not to clap, so Spencer starts clapping...are you telling me that if someone you've only known for 2 weeks tells your wife/husband not to do something in an angry shouting manner you would just let it slide, and not do anything?

The fact they were laughing is because of Rylan's flip out, he blew it out of proportion, and yes, they were taking the piss out of Claire, a grown woman who saw it as a fine idea to be away from her kids for a few weeks (did she not go on tours?) but cries about a letter when there is only a few days left to go...come on...if she's missing them as much as people think she is, why is she still in there?

Tom4784 22-01-2013 12:23 PM

Has Rylan apologised for upsetting her in the first place?

Surely as adults you know when to clap and smile and when not to? It was her whole demeanour that was inappropriate.

MrWong 22-01-2013 02:11 PM

Clearly Speidi are the better people apologising to clear the air, when infact the screeching Romford fishwife should have been apologising to them for willfully misinterpreting the claps in a desperate bid for more air time.

Speidi weren't even clapping about Claire. Rylan got the wrong end of the stick. He should say sorry for his rant at them. It was out of order.

Yeah I know :D

Rylan was going for the hero edit. He could have easily asked what Heidi was clapping about instead of jumping down her throat.

Did he even comfort Claire? I just remember him moving about the place, ranting in a very OTT way.
