Anybody who said no is either a liar or not thinking it through. Surgery isn't always for the vain.

um no, people who say no might have a fear of needles or going under or being cut or the pain afterwards, being realistic I would imagine it is no picnic having work done so not to be taken lightly, oh and some of us are just happy being us...

..I agree, people get it done for different reasons and I think in a lot of cases it's less about vanity and more that people don't see what other people see in themselves...all they see is their imperfections, which we all have anyway..but for some people those imperfections are literally all they see...and I guess when they have plastic surgery they may suddenly see themselves as 'beautiful' which they probably were before but it's a psycholocal thing that they've had the surgery so then they're happy with themselves....

..for me, I think I can honestly say that I wouldn't ever have any...maybe I need it lol..but having had several surgical procedures, I would never 'elect' to have one out of choice...

Harry! 20-02-2013 06:46 PM

Yes why not? I do not think minor plastic surgery should be anything to be ashamed of.

Samuel. 20-02-2013 06:52 PM

Already have - twice on my nose.

Mystic Mock 21-02-2013 02:14 AM

No as I think you look worse after having Plastic surgery than when you looked natural.

LemonJam 21-02-2013 02:19 AM

Nope. I'm fully aware I'm not the most handsome person in the world (pretty gaunt face, very large nose, horrifying skin) but I like what I have really. It gives me character.

Mystic Mock 21-02-2013 02:30 AM

Lol I have the same problems as well LemonJam, but I prefer to have that look than a dolls look.

Maia 21-02-2013 04:34 AM

No tbh

That's a lie tbh in the vast majority of cases. It's just that all we see paraded on shows are the ones who have had multiple surgeries such as cheek fillers, lip fillers etc which does make them look freaky
If you've just had one thing done, such as your nose or something, i think it is quite difficult to tell, and the person still will look normal.

Saph 21-02-2013 10:35 AM

i'd rather look fake and feel good rather than look natural and feel ugly and old tbh

lostalex 21-02-2013 10:41 AM

i'm still gonna get laser hair removal on my butt no matter what anyone around here has to say about it!

reminds me of a joke

a middle aged woman has a heart attack and ends up in hospital thinking she is going to die she sees a white light and speaks to god and he says no its not your time yet in fact you will live to a very old age and have a wonderful life.
the woman is so happy while in hospital she thinks well if im going to live so long i might as well treat myself to some surgery she has a face lift tummy ache lips breasts implants etc . everything done. when she leaves the hospital she crosses the road and gets run over by a bus and dies.
in heaven she says hey god you said id live till im very old and be happy what happened? god says sorry i didn't recognise you lol

it aint the truth, its delusional....its a symptom of a sad society so obsessed with ourselves that we end up destroying the one thing we treasure most, our looks? take another look at michael jackson and the millions of others who are appearance obsessed and clearly have undiagnosed mental illnesses. they nearly all look awful , but worse still they are profoundly unhappy self obsessed bores.

okay you say people with plastic surgery look awful... compared to who? most PEOPLE look awful, period. have you looked around lately?

stop being so judgemental.

Saph 21-02-2013 04:15 PM

plastic surgery is good for the soul, like designer clothes.

Samuel. 21-02-2013 04:39 PM

People seem to immediately think of extreme plastic surgery. Most operations are minor I'd imagine, to the point that it may not even be noticeable to others, but to the individual a simple change can be a huge boost for their self esteem and confidence.

Was certainly the case for me.

Beastie 21-02-2013 04:39 PM

Don't think I would. I want to get rid of the bags under my eyes though. Ha. Want to get rid of them the natural way. More sleep? I also rubbed potato skin on the bags under my eyes. It worked the first half hour and made the bags less visible but after half an hour they were purple again. Ha.

Never say never. I would love kids in the future. I can imagine after breast feeding and that I will have saggy tits then I may think to myself.. "don't want any more kids now, if I can afford it.. have a boob job?". But hopefully not. Hopefully I will have enough confidence not to care. No one is perfect and just make the most of what I have already got with my looks with makeup/natural remedies, etc...

eggsactly, everyone thinks of plastic surgery as being michael jackson or joan rivers, and all that extreme crap.

The truth is well done plastic surgery you wouldn't even notice. people have no idea how common plastic surgery actually is because most plastic surgery is done well.

i can't even describe how much changing my nose would improve my self esteem, and im sure it would not be noticeable to other people, but for me it would be the world

more rubbish.....if you didnt even notice the difference why even bother going through all that trouble? the desire for plastic surgery is usually related to a mental illness

Saph 21-02-2013 06:03 PM

I don't think its related to mental illness in all cases :/ when i'm older I wont hesitate to get work done if I feel it would make me feel better about myself.

Typically, prettier people or well-known people worry more about ageing because it means they wont get the attention that they're used to anymore, so they resort to surgery to try and stay looking/feeling young, whereas for less attractive people its easier to age because it makes no difference.

Saph 21-02-2013 06:05 PM

but i'm not saying thats always the case, people may also get surgery done due to being bullied or just generally feeling insecure

I think a lot of it is. I also think the NHS should not be supplying this service unless someone has been involved in an accident or has a physical disfigurement/disability. the nhs cannot afford for people to have free boobs and man boob lifts , when virtually all trusts are losing millions and people who are dying of diseases have to wait months for life saving operations. we must prioritise.

Saph 21-02-2013 06:28 PM

I agree that the NHS shouldn't pay for choice surgery

but they do , take a look at the nhs websites and youll find it easier to find plastic surgery advice than cancer

Jarrod 21-02-2013 06:35 PM

Personally I'd never have anything done... However if someone does, it's their choice and not ours. It's personal and nobody should judge a person on their decisions.

too liberall for me that comment......if they want it on the nhs then its my business and yours because we all pay into that system our whole loves and its meant to save lifes not give vain people fake boobs

also if they obsess on their appearance to the degree its ocd and bordering on mental health they need some tough love and need to be told straight. Id sooner the person that self obsessed gets mental health treatment rather than a new nose.

We're talking about other people, not yourself, who may not notice it. You'll definitely notice it yourself as if you're at the point of wanting plastic surgery, you'll have been obsessed with whatever it is you want changed.

That is COMPLETE NONSENSE.

(not that i'm surprised coming from you, but someone needs to hold you accountable)
