Yeah! It was pretty exciting to be honest, the locals told us to ignore them 'cos they'll leave you half-dead, we feed them through a car occasionally (to get photos!)
and actually the closest a wild animal was to me was a lion literally ten feet away (apart from a waterhog but thats not exciting)

Ah the last one was my friends photo, thats probably why. Unless none of them have worked and I look like a fool. Yeah as soon as I'm back, I'm moving out of my hometown to go to Manchester too!

Ammi 10-03-2013 09:53 PM

..no the other pics were great, it was just those two I couldn't open..

..well at least you're moving to a busy city so it won't seem too dull after Uganda..it must be so satisfying to teach there..have you enjoyed your time ..would you do something similar again..?...

I'm not sure I'll ever have the time anymore but I'd definitely recommend anybody doing something similar, best 6 months of my life so far!

What was the lion doing up the tree? And were you not terrified of it?

Ammi 10-03-2013 10:03 PM

..well, well done you, it's a once in a lifetime thing and something that will never leave you and a great benefit for the children there as well as everything you've learnt from them..I bet they'll miss you, there'll probably be lots of tears and most of them yours...

I think there are like 3 countries in the world which have tree-climbing lions, Uganda is one of them! I wasn't scared, I think everybody was too busy being more amazed and just started taking hundreds of photos! Looking back he probably could have killed us all considering the jeep roof was off! Lucky he must have not been too hungry I guess!

I don't even want to think about that yet! I'll probably be crying more than everybody put together!

..awww..the children must be so loving and happy, it's amazing how they have so little and yet are so content on many levels and just so happy at the simplest of things, it must be such a humbling experience and you'll always have a part of that inside you as well..I wouldn't think it's possible to live and work somewhere like that and come back 'the same person' sort of thing...

Haha, thanks, I was back at Christmas. Everybody was saying I was different, hopefully its a compliment haha. They also kept saying I look "well" which doesn't sound like much of a compliment..
