oh no

such a shame

The Saturdays must be pissing themselves with delight. First number one pretty much in the bag AND Girls Aloud spectacularly burning out in the same week. I'd imagine Rochelle has a cupboard in her living room with the scalps of former girlbands inside it - when did anyone last hear of Amelle Berrabah? All of Girls Can't Catch and at least two of Parade are in there too, from what I hear.

Girls Aloud will always be one of the most known UK girl groups of modern times. Glad I saw them last year. The girls will continue to inspire many...

I think it's Chery's assistant's sister.
But still.
Nadine. Is. Queen.

Spot on Daisy, spot on

Jordan. 21-03-2013 10:55 PM

LOL she could have atleast used an appropriate hashtag. Unless Cheryl was singing Nadines album to remind her.

Marsh. 21-03-2013 10:57 PM

She's got abuse and deleted it. Lol.

She didn't want to be barred from Nadine's Irish Mist :idc:

There's definitely some poetic justice in Girls Aloud having their final performance in 2009 just as Keisha was ousted from the Sugababes, and Girls Aloud hanging their boots up just as Keisha is returning with MKS.

Also, did anyone see the ITV2 tweet earlier today?

:joker:

Marsh. 22-03-2013 12:46 AM

Poetic justice?

Is that a phrase for "two things that have feck all to do with one another"?

Although, lmao at the Saturdays. Just as they've buggered off to the states the market is opening for them.

Tongue was very much in cheek , obviously the two events are unrelated.

Well, you say that about The Saturdays, but they're on course for their first #1 in the UK this week!

That's precisely what I'm talking about. Just as they're popping off, it's all happening.

Z 22-03-2013 01:20 AM

:suspect: That's not how your post came across.. they've not buggered off to the States, they're back in the UK now, and for their entire career they've pretty much been the only girlband in the UK, it's only now that we're overloaded with girlbands they seem to have finally hit their stride!

james130 22-03-2013 02:37 AM

Tbf, The Saturdays have put out some pretty great tunes.
Stupidly, one of their worst; in my opinion, is the one that's on track for a number one.
But they'll never be Girls Aloud and don't even get me started on the joke that is Little Shi ts... :idc:

girls aloud are the best UK girlband of all time tbh

(as in a pop girl band I'm sure there are better all-female rock acts)

Definitely, they were so consistent and there will never be another like them, not in our lifetimes I don't think. They overcame SO many odds and just went from strength to strength, even if they had a less than great single they still never faltered, whereas other great girlbands have always had a period of time where they've slipped a little (or a lot, depending on the group) - either through dramatic fall outs (Spice Girls, Sugababes, All Saints, The Bangles, Bananarama) or terrible music (The Saturdays, Atomic Kitten, Mis-Teeq).

james130 24-03-2013 08:53 PM

Ready for Nadine to take over while Cheryl takes her 'break.'
She'll slay if she gets Xenomania on-board or more dance tracks like this.
