right, time to give this a whirl. On Sight. crikey.
omfg I Am A God :worship: Hudson Mohawke can do no wrong
a not-so positive review of it in the Guardian...
Seems to be saying that Kanye is a hypocrite. http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisf...zus-album-rage |
I just finished it and I loved all the tracks apart from Bound 2. Great album.

I'll have to wait til this is out I guess
why :x
I can't download torrents or anything on a tablet and I cba to turn on my slow laptop :( I'm facing the same dilemma with Kelly Rowland's album
you poor soul
the songs are probably on tumblr if you search the song titles
Ok, I'll try
Very mixed reviews so far. This will be like 808s and WTT and start off generally disliked and then grow into a borderline classic. I remember all the "ergh, go back to old Kanye please" when WTT came out and then they had a GOAT tour off it.
Mixed reaction from fans, but very strong reception from critics. Easily heading for an 80+ on MC with the current reviews.
Hold My Liquor, Blood on the Leaves and Guilt Trip are my favourites so far. |
I'm listening to Blood on the Leaves and I'm worried this is gonna be like 808s
Only listened to it once but Blood on the Leaves, I Am a God, Black Skinhead and Hold My Liquor :worship: only one I'm not liking so much is Bound 2
Minimal in production like 808s, but a lot harder and aggressive. Not similar beyond some autotune use.
it does feel like he tries too hard to slip in some catchphrases and soundbites though... especially on I'm In It (the eating asian pussy, all i need is sweet and sour sauce line :joker:)
but idc i love it. |

:laugh2:

9.5 from Pitchfork
http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/...e-west-yeezus/ Currently Kanye's second best reviewed album after MBDTF. 86 on MC, but that'll go up when the site updates. Would still say it's his weakest solo album. |
Am I the only person who loves Bound 2? It's amazing. :worship:
The whole album is great though. Not one of his best and a bit inconsistent but I really enjoyed every track. |
Yeah I really like Bound 2 as well.
The marmite track of the album. |
Best track is Hold Your Liquor imo. The beat, hook, anger in the verse and all the Quotables.

Brilliant album, based on first listen I'd place it third behind MBDTF and College Dropout. Hold My Liquor and Blood on the Leaves are my favourites.
I'd put it fourth (808s last, I know it's very different and good and everything but it's just not got a number of songs I love).
Im not a huge kanye fan but I absolutely love this album. I Am God is by far and away my favorite
A solid 9 for the album. It was great.
Black Skinhead :worship: |
Just realised the Wolf of Wall Street theme is Black Skinhead..hadn't heard anything before that, and I like that
This is #1 by the way
Black Skinhead is my favourite track on the album |
Actually surprised this is number 1. MBDTF, with a ton of promotion compared to this (and being a much better album), didn't even make the top ten.
Why did he not promote this at all I only just realised it was even out I'm very distressed
Well at least it's not The Second Law
Sold a little over 300k
Cole sold 290k Mac Miller 100k. Not bad numbers for 2013, but still. So, who won? Kanye for selling more with little promotion, or Cole for pushing it close with a heavyweight? Well, Jay won I spose :joker: Jay is so gonna flop next month though:joker: |
Black Skinhead's been confirmed as first single. Already in the UK charts with no promo :idc: (ok only #39 but still)
The largest 2nd-week percentage drops for #1-debuting albums
MDNA 86.70% | Born This Way 84.28% | Blue Slide Park 82.54% | Yeezus 80.27%. https://twitter.com/chartnews/status/352510852504625152 Welp. |
is that in the US? it dropped to #5 i think here
