I didn't think it was right either. Bit too personal but I guess all we'd have no else to see and the awkwardness days after wouldn't have made sense lol

I think it was factual, rather than hear say!
clearly he died and it was ruled as suicide, so that's why it was aired.

Daffodil 26-06-2013 07:46 AM

I think Hazel overreacted. It was obvious to me that Charlie was, in her naive sort of way, trying to make a compliment of the fact that losing Hazel, her fiancé was moved to commit suicide. For Hazel to then not want to talk about it (for the next 6 hours!!) was hypocritical to say the least. Hazel's act of forgiveness at the end of this time was very theatrical. I really wanted Charlie to say 'thanks but no thanks' to the requested 'hug' - (grasp of the preying mantis). Hazel realised that she looked a complete berk making such a song and dance of it, hence the back-tracking. I personally like Charlie. She seems a genuinely nice girl and would NOT have meant for Hazel to take what she said, in the way she did. I also got the impression that the 6 hours of discussion about it was a game-playing tactic by Hazel. Not sure I like her any more. Does she ever go without make-up????

Every word of this is amazingly insensitive /cold hearted

I agree in part with this, Hazel was milking the situation to the max, using it to suck others into seeing her as a victim of a huge scandal..whereas in reality it was just an honest mistake.

Plus, Hazel did actually allude to it in a way and Charlie was almost just finishing her sentence of for her. If Hazel was so sensitive about it, why did she even bring it up in the first place?

For me it was a small thing that got twisted into something much more sinister.

Absolutely spot on!

Agree. The way Hazel said it she implied as much.

I think it was a genuine misunderstanding between the two. These two don't seem to get on all that well if they can have such a huge misunderstanding. Hazel has implied that she's not too keen on Charlie too. This could be a feud to watch for the future.

Stateofconfusion 26-06-2013 09:44 AM

I don't think Hazel's reaction was an overreaction. I think she just needed some time to think about, talk it through with the people she is closest with and get over it. I mean she hugged Charlie as if to say she was over it and accepted Charlie's earlier apology.

haha definitely, Hazel really doesn't feel to me to have forgiven Charlie at all.

MTVN 26-06-2013 09:47 AM

It's not like Hazel banged on about it to everyone to try and milk sympathy from them, the only person she talked to about it was the one she's closest to in Dan, and after discussing it with him in a calm and reasonable way she took the initiative to make up with Charlie and accept her apology

Don't think Hazel could really have handled it any better

Took it too far in what way? She did nothing but talk to her friend in the house about it and then she gave Charlie a hug and made up with her (not that she'd actually even fallen out with her) God give the girl a break, she was pretty nice about something pretty hurtful (not that I think Charlie intended to hurt her but ****ing hell it was a horrible thing to ask someone)

I agree about the Charlie bit being insensitive, but if Hazel didn't want to talk about it, why did she bring it up in the first place..?

She didn't want to talk about Charlie asking her if his suicide was her fault, infact I don't think they were even talking about the fact that he committed suicide at all, they were just talking about the guy himself as Daley also knew him. It was Charlie who asked how he died and then asked if it was because of Hazel

I didn't see it as her asking if it was because of Hazel. I think she was curious and went about asking it the wrong way. She didn't think before she spoke.

She said something like Do you think he killed himself because of the break up or something along those lines.........

GiRTh 26-06-2013 10:29 AM

I think, the way Hazel framed the statement she said one thing straight after the other giving the impression they were related. Charlies chain of thought was fair enough IMO she just shouldn't have said it out loud.

Sure, I agree and yeah I think most people will agree that Charlie wasn't being nasty, she just has a bit of a Homer Simpson thing going on saying stuff she should just be thinking
