Oh my actual god. Sam isn't gay. Even if he was, what's the big deal? Get over the fact he isn't and move on.

What would it matter, if he was?

Up to the mods to decide of course. Some underlying homophobia in starting this thread? Or is it wishful thinking? Lol! ;) |

Never read so much tosh and homophobia in one thread before

Gutted that nobody here cares about Sam's pouting :conf::conf::bawling::bawling::bawling: |
This thread is a disgrace.
|
So many stereotypes in this thread. *ahem*
Whether he's straight, gay, bi, bi-curious or just doesn't tag himself - it doesn't really matter. It's hardly the most important thing in the world. |
Sam is about the straightest guy in there.
I assume this thread is the result of wishful thinking? ;) |
i am pretty sure sam is straight, but dexter is definitely gay. :)

I don't necessarily think Sam's gay but I thought the same about his BB role model BB7 Glyn way back then. There are parallels: young 'horny for women' innocent Welsh guys not getting involved in too much dram chasing after clapped out cougar women (BB7 Lea/ Jemima). |
I think the wording of thread title s wrong way around.
Is Sam rather than Sam is. |

As for him having a mental age of 13 yrs, I think that's cruel, Sam seems slow sometimes due to his speech, but as he is 80% deaf, he cannot hear voices the way we do and therefore his speech is affected I would say that during his chats with Callum, he has come across as a very mature young man |

'for all their faults ......' usually precedes saying something good about someone. Offering a quality that stands as a positive in their favour as opposed to the negative 'faults'.
Follwing that up with how they're probably the straightest men in the house suggests that this is a positive quality. |
Quote:
Also the opposite of straight may have meant asexual. Being straight is not a negative characteristic so why would I paint it as negative? |
Then why use the phrase 'for all their faults'?
By 'usually' I mean when the phrase is used correctly. |

We see negativity if we want to, in almost anything.

You're wrong, thats just wishful thinking.

does not matter to me - i am judging him on what i see - not what he is - and as i see very little of him - can not make up my mind.
i do have understanding how hard it was for him to do this. did he make the right decision going in ? i am not convinced - sorry if this is hurtful. |

I think the gay slur is just a way of diverting people from the obvious fact that Sam is still dominating the house. It's natural for people to become jealous when one housemate gets all the air time.
He's always at the center of the action, especially in the bedroom. In the safe house he ruled again, Sophie just sat their brushing her hair over and over. This young man is deaf, yes deaf! Have some respect! He didn't choose to be this way, he is extremely brave to enter the BB house and bear his soul to the nation raising awareness of this horrendous dissability. So what if he keeps mentioning Hazels big boobies or Charlies bottom or trying to fondle old women or is crude and crass, who cares? he's a typical lad and thats what lads do and say. He is 2nd fave to win the show so who cares if he's 2nd because of the sympathy vote? If anything Sam deserves our respect and of course the £100,000 prize money, he has promised that he is going to spend it sensibly on children with similar issues in his local community. You wont find Sam falling out of a celebrity club at 4 am with vomit on his shirt after the show ends and boobies on the right and left of him,no, he is just a young man trying his best to be a role model to young children. Have some respect. |

But, really, it was just a flippant comment pointing out that the phrasing used suggested a particular thing, and most likely not the thing the post intended to suggest. It was a point about semantics. It's quite simple: if you use the phrase 'for all their faults they're the straightest people there' that phrasing suggests that being straight is a positive attribute, because it has been posited as a 'saving grace' if you will next to their 'faults'. For example: For all his faults, Dexter can be really witty at times. For all his faults, Dan was a level headed presence in the house. For all your faults, you do write some decent forum posts. See what I mean? |
The opposite of straight is not asexual
Source: I'm asexual and most definitely straight. |
