I like him - it's just a pity that religious people have ruined his message by turning him into a zombie with superpowers. He actually had many interesting things to say. Absolutely nothing he said was in any way revolutionary for the time it was said. The Greeks, Confucius, the Egyptian gods, and Buddha all said exactly the same things as he did, but many centuries before. Christians and religious people ruled the earth for centuries, so it's extreme revisionism now to say that Jesus would be fighting for the poor (I agree he would) with the support of Christians. America is the most Christian country on earth, yet it suffers wealth disparity that rivals any of the craziest banana republics, and the most religious party in the country attacks the poor the most. We've seen this through history, and we still see it now. It's the hypocrisy that irks me so much. I have no idea about your deeds, so I won't comment on them, but there is nothing that exists within christianity today that lives up to the standard set out by a Palestinian political rebel called Yeshua. If you want to convert me to the message of the church (without believing the fairy stories that go with it), then refocus your efforts on reforming the church. Turn the focus to tolerance and acceptance and we'll have lots of common ground. Let me explain how Jesus affects my life/thoughts/desperation to destroy him - he doesn't, but I know you're offended by my avatar and username, so why not follow a direct lesson from the man himself, and turn the other cheek. |

.Yes it will garner you cheap attention and give you an identity of sorts as the anti-Christian poster, but will achieve nothing but destruction. You don't make any sense. Its sad. |
Quote:
During his life he faced temptation and attack from not only the dirty Jews, but the devil himself, and yet an internet avatar and username on the internet is playing a role in destroying his message? Am I more powerful than either god or satan? How about blaming the christians that ruled the world for hundreds of years, showing absolutely no tolerance, no thought for the poor, and zero compassion, for ruining the message of Jesus? How about you challenge Christians around the world today that still have more interest in collecting their own 30 pieces of silver, over and above any message of love? How about aiming your ire in the right direction? Christians are very rarely Christ-like. In the same way that you condemn and judge others, don't. Lest thee be judged. We are not a nation built on Christian values - we are a nation that had to fight off the church and monarchy to introduce secular values. People that support the teachings of Jesus should be socialists, not Christians. |
