i heard gay support groups are quite good for meeting gay people
|
lbr here there just shouldn't be gays in general, we should just exterminate them all

Plus anyway I have discovered that mens and womens toilets mean nothing in gay bars :hmph:

Until people stop assuming that everyone is straight and therefore you can go into any club and try hitting on anyone without risking being beaten up, there's every reason for gay bars and clubs to exist. It's just an easier way for people to meet one another
I want to go to one one day, I've heard they're pretty hilarious |

with this world of discrimination we live in - it is wrong to refuse entry to anyone and there for can not have a specific on a club. which is only fare and correct for everyone.

and there was me thinking everyone had turned bi sexual.
on a serious note!, I have never been to a gay club, but I have been in a club with gays. its a choice thing really, I get what the op is saying, its like gay guys hooking up in public toilets, its bad for gays in general. |
The gay village in Manchester is a great night out - little trouble....but its not uncommon for the bouncers on a busy night to turn people away stating "gays only" which just would not be tolerated elsewhere with clubs saying "straights only". That's my only gripe.
|
All clubs discriminate quite arbitrarily mind, like a lot of places won't let you in just if you're a group of all males if it ruins their ratios

Don't you think be-ridding successful things because you dislike them is unnecessary and illogical? I do
|
there are so few gay people that they need them to get laid if they dont like manky toilets or bushes
|
I'm not gay but i used to go to a gay club/bar all the time. great places. i used to go with family and friends and my girlfriends at the time.
plenty of straight people and so easy to pull girls funny enough in a gay bar. less competetion if your straight i guess lol. but what i liked about it was it was friendly. never any trouble. you go to any normal bar or club your always on your guard. but you can relax in a gay bar. and just enjoy yourself. of course they should have them. everynight there's hot girls snogging eachother they cant do that in a normal bar. they would get hassle and get chucked out. |

as so many Pro Gays Demand it. Not you Conzors but maybe for you only you need a London Central one that is bigger then at least there are sections and to stay in profit they have specials. Its a money making game first. |

I don't think gay bars implement segregation, but instead are just a specific type of brand? It's quite harmless really.
Like other people have said, gay people can go into other bars and straight people can go into gay bars? |

Sure but it will only take around 30 years here |
I get where you're coming from but I think it's just a bit of a niche in the same way that there are rock bars where moshers would go or cocktail bars where pretty girls in short dresses would go... it's just a place that you can go if that's where you feel most comfortable. I think it's good that they exist. I think it would be better if there was more variety, so it's not just "this is the gay bar where all gay people go" but I think that sort of exists anyway, I know quite a few art school-esque gay guys who, funnily enough, go to art school sorts of venues and they manage to meet people there, that's where they feel most comfortable. I think it's important to have a space where you feel safe and you feel in your element in, in terms of night life.
|
Don't see what the problem with them is... haven't been to one myself but there are loads of different nightclubs and gay ones are just one type? It's not like straight people are barred for life.
|
..my son went to one recently with a friend of his who had just 'come out' as gay...maybe they are good for people who have just come out..?..
