You dont need to lie..if shes a friend and she invites you round..just say 'no because your house is minging'

Maybe she was just having a bad week or something and couldnt be arsed to do housework. Might not always be like that

To you.

To me, it was the right thing to do.

I can be pretty untidy, but my house is clean. I can't stand a dirty kitchen or bathroom.

I would not tell her, that's just horrible. :o She doesn't seem to care anyway, she hasn't called me or anything since it happened so it must not bother her either.

No, you could tell that her house was disgusting. It wasn't a case of not doing housework.

You don't have to lie just drop into the conversation...

"Oh I can't go out today I'm cleaning my bathroom with strong bleach and other products. I can't stand a dirty bath can you?"

No its not, you could say it in a nicer way but its a good thing to tell people things like that IMO. I had to tell a friend she stank of BO once, as everyone was talking about her behind her back. Was a horrible convo but it helped in the long run.

Cal. 01-06-2014 04:52 PM

It also give me some insight into her state of mind...if she doesn't care for her house, what does she care for? :flutter:

If her house was messy I could deal with that, it's just a lifestyle choice, but it was a really dirty, filthy house.

You could have had a quiet word with her?

Do you mind me asking how old you are? Because if your friend lives with her parents then this is even worse...not really her fault is it now?

I may not like it and think it's wrong but it's not up to me how she keeps her house. I just don't want to associate with someone who doesn't keep a clean house. It's not like she's busy either.

You sound like a right bitch. :joker:

InOne 01-06-2014 06:35 PM

some times a dirty home is a sign of a mental illness, on the other end of the spectrum some people don't live in their houses they just clean them.

you never had a real friendship, a real friend likes that person for who they are and not for the state of their home

smudgie 01-06-2014 07:40 PM

I don't mind untidy houses, but no need for filth.
I love mine all tidy but fall by the wayside quite a bit:blush:

We usually take our shoes off when we visit friends, as do most of them, just good manners really.

No way would I fall out with a friend just because their house was minging.

Cal. 01-06-2014 07:49 PM

Well I did, I actually wasn't expecting so many people to go on about the story, more to just discuss unclean homes and their views on them.

you made the thread personal to you by including your ex friend.

I think you thought everyone would think like you.
