Don't really care

The Razzies are tongue in cheek, anyone who says that it is a chance to insult people have obviously not seen it before. It's nothing malicious but a bit of banter and fun. I take a lot of insults seriously and over-react time to time but do I think comments in the razzies are a directed at me are an insult? No!

Black Dagger 04-11-2014 07:37 PM

I'm really over it all. If they happen they happen and I'll take part but whatevs.

You just can't get the staff these days..

Ninastar 04-11-2014 09:04 PM

thing is, people tag team vote on these things, so its never really a view of the forum as a whole... just a view from a small group of people.

I always enjoyed the Razzies, I thought they were fun and were often highlights of the year when it comes to Tibb. Most people took it in the intended spirit and most of the people that abused the Razzies aren't around to do so this time. If it was down to me I'd be willing to give it another go with an opt in system.

I agree that it should be 'opt in'.. then you're basically volunteering for a piss-take... and people won't volunteer for that unless they're genuinely up for it..

I'd opt-in... I already get dogs abuse on here and off anyway.. Most of it is in jest and the rest of it idgaf about anyway :)

Right off last year,I opted out and only then looked back at the thread once at the end to see who won what.
I was actually surprised and felt I had misjudged the event so I have voted yes and also I wouldn't opt out of it this time.

I really don't think it's what the forum needs atm after all the crap that's went on lately

I find it a little insulting that despite the majority being "for" it, and that there is a universal agreement of both an opt in, and that it will be light-hearted, the usual clouds of doom are already predicting a bloodbath.

Guess we'll just have to wait for Most Loved and get our laughs from the inevitable charm offensive.

i know it is a public forum but why would you purposely speak out against something that would have absolutely nothing to do with you (assuming that you opted out)

But yeah, hello Kate! :)

Vanessa 05-11-2014 01:59 PM

I don't think it's a good idea, especially after what happened lately. We need something positive on the forum for a change.

Glenn. 05-11-2014 02:06 PM

The razzies are positive Vanessa

There never used to really be all this buzz about it. They happened and people got over it. With a few token bans during the ceremony. I think if it causes this much discussion and disagreement it's pointless cos the magic has kinda gone from it.

I wasn't even going to bother replying to this thread because I agree with James and would pretty much just have posted the same but I wanted to reply to this comment.

I find being referred to as a cloud of doom more than a little insulting Livia, and since you weren't a specific target in any of the trolling on here lately which btw is definitely NOT a nice thing to have happen to you at all, then you will have no idea just how vicious and nasty some members of this forum can be and I'm not just talking about banned members either.

So yeah I never used to bother about the Razzies but lately the downright awful and horrible things I have witnessed being said about others proves to me that the 'light hearted' comments are not true at all, yes a few might make light hearted jokey type comments but for some they use this as a platform to air their nasty vile opinions about people that they have never even met before and only know online in a forum environment.

I definitely think the last thing the forum needs right now is the Razzies and yes I am predicting that it would be a 'bloodbath' for the forum because some members like I mentioned above use this for complete nastiness, some can never let things go and hold grudges that allows arguing to spill into threads and so on.

I agree with you. Some see it as lighthearted fun, but others see it as a chance to slag off the people they don't like without fear of a ban.

Smithy 05-11-2014 03:11 PM

I'm not too bothered either way if it happens or not, but i think people are getting a bit confused between the Razzies and the "Controversy" we had a few years ago

The razzies generally have categories that are voted, it's not like where everyone sends snipey comments, it's just like: "Most Argumentative Member.... " "The Winner is... Glenn" there isn't gonna be people in the thread like "HAHAHA GLENN YES YOU ARE SO ARGUMENTATIVE I HOPE YOU GET EBOLA AND DIE BECAUSE OF IT"

Was just about to mention this. there's a huge difference.

Niamh. 05-11-2014 03:24 PM

The last Razzies were pretty messy iirc ^
