The reaching is real, it always surprises and saddens me how deep the hatred for certain HMs is even when the series is over.

Jfc, let it go, move on with your life.

There is that famous old line "I do a lot for charity but I don't like to talk about it"

There is nothing wrong with donating to charity but Chloe telling us she has done it has sent her down in my estimation rather than up.

Again how can donating to charity make someone go down in your estimation. The fact is she donated a large sum of her money to charity which is better than her doing nothing with the money which if she openly said she did she would be slated much more

Why does she need to tell us she donated?

Who does that benefit?

Telling people that you have donated 20 grand to charity is just the same as saying "look at me, aren't I caring and great"

Dignified charity donors remain anonymous.

It raises awareness for the charity plus she was asked about what she did with the money, why should she lie?

I don't think she should have been asked that question to be honest. Asking her was probably more vulgar than her responding.

If someone asked you in your everyday life how much you earn or what you paid for stuff you would think them incredibly rude. I certainly would.

y.winter 21-07-2015 05:34 PM

As one with a sister going through an awful disease, I can tell you that rising awareness and gratitude to charity is a natural thing to do, yes even publicly and still selfless. It means the world. Publicity or good image it's not the point, it's not always the truth. Don't judge.

Jarrod 21-07-2015 05:35 PM

This thread is pathetic.

She's doing it for her Granddad. Why shouldn't she be proud of herself for donating? I make no secret of donating to charity because I think it's a wonderful thing to do.

She only told because she was asked

You're looking into it far too much, I suggest you get over the obsession with finding hate on Chloe.

I suppose it is a narcissistic world that we live in. Perhaps I am being old fashioned.

Mind you, we saw the narcissism from chloe when she was posing with BMWs on social media and she now claims the BMW wasn't hers so it makes one wonder why she was pretending it was.

armand.kay 21-07-2015 07:47 PM

lol she was asked and she told really what's the big deal.

armand.kay 21-07-2015 07:49 PM

Also now she's brought the charity to the attention of her fans.

Shaun 21-07-2015 07:52 PM

just a lovely girl and winner really isn't she x

BENDERBOY 21-07-2015 08:24 PM

A drug rehabilitation charity would have been more fitting.

Are you actually serious? Cancer is way more important than drug rehabilitation.

Jack_ 21-07-2015 08:27 PM

honestly this is boring now the series is over can we please drop this because not only do I want to forget that this ****ing bore won the series but quite frankly you're arguing the toss over such an irrelevant issue. She was asked about what she was going to spend the money on (which is totally different and completely understandable to asking what someone will do with their regular salary, by the way) and she answered. How people can criticise others for donating to charity is just beyond me

alex_front2 21-07-2015 08:34 PM

It's good that she mentioned it as it raises awareness, when a charity gets media attention donations do go up. When an ex - cricket guy appeared on Who Wants to be A Millionaire Celeb edition, he mentioned some small barely known charity and donations shot through the roof.

Also she is showing generosity so will encourage others famous or not to follow suit

Thirdly, if she had said I am spending the lot on a Range Rovers Sport, boob jobs, rhinoplasty, fillers, and a week in Magaluf she would have been criticised. Ultimately it's her money, she can do as she wishes and if asked can respond as she wants. Well seeing as she trots out the ordinary working class girl mantra, prefer the charity approach than her Dubai, Rolex Instagramm nonsense.

Skimmed through this thread and this post was the best. Have had a lot to do with Macmillan whilst my mum was ill and they were fantastic. Anyone who supports them is a worth a thumbs up in my view. Don't care who they are, what they've done, how much they give and not sure why anyone would bad mouth someone for giving £ 20k to charity. If I cold afford yo give that much I would be pretty proud and say so too...

Disagree, there are no absolutes, some people lives and their loves ones are more blighted by drugs than cancer, others the reverse. Some people are moved more by the tyranny of alcoholism on others than cancer. And of course the reverse. A lot of people will donate to a cancer charity but not to an Hiv+/ Aids charity as they see HIV+AIDS as somehow not as tragic or deserving a cause simply because sex is often a major way of contraction.

There is an air of desperation about this thread and its original pathetic point, which has nothing to do with being old fashioned; it's just plain nasty.

Let's make it easier to understand: Chloe won BB16 and in so doing gained a large amount of money.

If someone wins money, especially on a TV show, generally the first few questions they are asked will include, "what are you going to do with the money?"

Chloe answered the question!

This thread doesn't just scrape the barrel, it sh!ts in it and then licks it out.

I didn't realize Chloe had made a charity donation until reading your thread - thanks for the info - and well done her!

I'm becoming oddly happy that she won - bizarre that i'm starting to feel positive about a housemate only after the show has concluded.:conf:

Strange how she was living the highlife before and staying in 5* dubai hotels and carrying £1000 handbags without worrying about giving to charity.

Hmmm, I was wondering if it will actually happen.
It is an awful lot of money to a girl that said 5 grand would change her life.
Good on her if she does it.

Sorry, where did I criticise her for donating to charity?

I criticised her for broadcasting the fact that she had.

It's hardly broadcasting it if she was answering a question :/

She was answering a journalist's question in the full knowledge that it would be published on DS and therefore widely seen. It was broadcasting it.

And she had the option to not answer.
