Obviously I wasn't around when she was a big star in the 60s, l collect 60s music on CDs however and have several of her.

She made some strong performances,I wouldn't say I was a fan but many songs I really liked, such as 'Conversations' and a lesser known one 'Where is Tomorrow'.
She also did a pretty good version of the Hollies,'The air that I breathe' on a album and her version of 'You've lost that loving feeling', is standout too

Money is far from everything, however it does seem she really enjoyed life to the full and also has only been half the person she was,in some ways, since losing her Husband.
You are right, none of us knows what is round every corner.

She lives on through her music.

She was so so so so young I couldn't believe it, a true icon. RIP Cilla Black.

She shouldn't have said that but come on, telling her to drop dead is equally distasteful.

smudgie 02-08-2015 07:38 PM

Sad news.
She had a brilliant life, talented and down to earth, a bit of a National treasure I think.
Lived her life to the full, had a great relationship with her family and had loads of loyal friend, can't get much better than that.
R.I.P. Cilla.

I dont get why she died?

And do I recall her saying she wanted to die at 70 or something?

Gstar 03-08-2015 12:03 AM

Blind date was my childhood, her voice alone brings nostalgia. RIP Cilla, you'll be greatly missed xx

They haven't done the forensics yet.

..I thought Alan Sugar's response in calling her an idiot was dignified and perfect, rather than getting into one of those stupid tit for tat Twitter wars which seem so much the thing...

..I don't know, maybe her heart just said enough as her arthritis would have meant constant pain, day in/day out type thing ..there is only so much that the body can take with something like that as there is just never any end to it to focus on...

Ithinkiloveyoutoo 03-08-2015 08:15 AM

Cilla...:::love: thank you for many wonderful Saturday nights. Just the other day I was saying how wonderful she looked for a 70 or so lady.

Rest in peace :spin:

Ithinkiloveyoutoo 03-08-2015 08:18 AM

A bad joke is that the horrid remake of surprise surprise drove her to the edge. :(

She's one of those people who you would think would outlive us all, She's a legend.

I guess she will outlive us all in a way, she will be remembered for a very long time.

Crimson Dynamo 03-08-2015 09:00 AM

Blind date was saturday night for about 15 years. You watched it and then went out.

Kazanne 03-08-2015 09:56 AM

Loads of celebs and programs making tributes to her today on TV and media.

Z 03-08-2015 05:09 PM

Well if falling over banging your head and then dying of a stroke is natural...

joeysteele 04-08-2015 03:59 PM

Possibly she was taking the the stroke as she fell, collapsing while taking a stroke she would not have had any chance to steady herself and if it was a really bad one, then sadly she would have had no chance to survive it.
What a sad end to her life and on her own too it seems, just hopefully it was a case where she would virtually know nothing about it.

Z 04-08-2015 07:23 PM

I can't think of a British celebrity who's had such an outpouring of public affection in passing in so many years. What an absolute sweetheart, I miss her already.

Ammi 05-08-2015 04:20 AM

..just watching her interview/tribute with Paul O'Grady last night, it's still hard to believe she's gone...
