Nosedive was the weakest out of the first four I watched because of how good the other three were omggg

San Junipero is beautiful, the visuals, the plot the throwbacks of fashion and pop culture ugh loves it, the end of both playtest and shut up and dance all shook me

Couldn't quite make it through all of Playtest (I read up on the plot and I'm not good with horror at all). Shut Up And Dance may be my new fave episode of Black Mirror though :clap1:

(UPDATE: Just finished watching San Junipero, and that's now taken over as my fave episode )

Is Playtest gory? :worry:

Marsh. 22-10-2016 04:15 AM

Shut Up and Dance has just depressed the sh*te out of me.

Marsh. 23-10-2016 12:30 AM

Actual chills at the end of Shut Up and Dance. So unnerving.

Samm 23-10-2016 01:46 AM

San Junipero and Hated in the Nation are the best two, those killer robotic bees are so scary, I need a series four

From what I read it sounded like it :worry:

Finished the final two episodes. I enjoyed Men Against Fire but I did feel that it was one of the weaker episodes tbh. Hated Against The Nation was fantastic - when I heard they were doing a 'scandi-style detective drama' I wasn't sure about it but they've pulled it off superbly. The bees! The hashtag!

Overall, I feel that Black Mirror's move to Netflix is the best thing that could've happened to it. The bigger budget and the more international scope of it has benefited it hugely imo - you can tell that they wanted to go big with it and they've totally succeeded. If I had to rank the episodes:

Hated In The Nation > San Junipero > Shut Up and Dance > Nosedive > Men Against Fire > Playtest

shut up and dance was so grim :shook:

i much prefer playtest (i'm like 3/4 through it)

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 23-10-2016 02:15 AM

"would you kindly" :omgno:

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 23-10-2016 03:35 AM

just finished nosedive

it was hilarious and really sad/sombre but also kinda adorable

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 23-10-2016 03:32 PM

san junipero had me in floods of tears omg

UserSince2005 24-10-2016 03:35 PM

Me and my german cuddled up and watched episodes 1 and 6 last night. very nice.

Benjamin 30-10-2016 02:34 AM

Until last week I'd never seen this show. It was only by chance I came across it on Netflix. I have binged watch all seasons and wow, love this show.

I love the fact each story has a totally different cast and plot, the stories are always unique and the music they use.

Scarlett. 05-11-2016 02:23 AM

I was worried about Netflix doing Black Mirror, even though they are really good at making shows. But this series has been amazing, each episode felt so different, but had the same underlying theme.

I'd have to say San Junipero was my favorite though, was such a ray of sunshine among all the bad endings, lol.

Jessica. 07-11-2016 09:43 PM

I started watching yesterday to keep myself occupied while I'm sick. I just watched the white bear episode and it really disturbed me.

Headie 07-11-2016 09:49 PM

White Bear is probably my favourite Black Mirror episode ever, it still remains the best one for me.

Ramsay 07-11-2016 09:52 PM

Agreed^

_Tom_ 07-11-2016 11:14 PM

White Bear is mine too, the twist literally had me :o at the time.

_Tom_ 07-11-2016 11:25 PM

I've watched 2 of the new ones.

Nosedive was cool, I kept thinking I'm so glad this isn't our reality, but then I guess it actually is to an extent :worry:

Shut Up and Dance was so emotionally intense - and I think it proves that everyone should have a bit of tape over their webcam!

Spoiler:

And that twist - I never saw it coming. I was so frustrated through the whole episode wondering why he cared so much for just the video...

It also makes you think back to the bit at the start where he gives the little kid back the toy but lingers for far too long :worry:

The subtle things you don't pick up on. The episode was a masterpiece tbh :clap1:

Oh and yes to Michaela Coel, that guy from Happy Valley and Bronn :clap1:

Jessica. 08-11-2016 12:54 AM

:worry: still can't get over White Bear

watched white bear with my german last night, we werent so impressed.

_Tom_ 13-11-2016 09:46 PM

Playtest is terrifying, I was literally going "WTF" all the way through D:

Jake. 27-11-2016 07:56 PM

was men against fire actually about immigrants? :suspect:

Jake. 27-11-2016 09:24 PM

hated in the nation :worry: probably the best ep of black mirror ever

Marsh. 27-11-2016 10:52 PM

I thought Hated in the Nation was a tad too long.

Of all the stories to make film length I felt that was least deserving.

Tom4784 27-11-2016 10:54 PM

San Junipero is tied with White Bear as my favourite episode. It has made me emotionally fragile.

Marsh. 27-11-2016 10:55 PM

It would've been better with a cisgendered straight couple. :)

I dont know if anyone made the connection, but just started watching the series this week (LOVE IT) and cant help but feel like the journalist in episode 6 is loosely based on Katie Hopkins :joker:

arista 08-12-2016 05:48 AM

I look forward to it on BluRay 1080P 5.1 sound

Feck Netflix

Shaun 02-01-2017 01:08 AM

just watched Nosedive and found it really sweet. Bless Bryce's little heart.

I know Brooker's metaphors are really hamfisted but damnit they're always acted and told brilliantly.

I'll try and get around to the other five tomorrow. Rated 5 Stars! :D

Shaun 28-02-2017 01:46 PM

just watched Playtest and SUAD... liked SUAD a lot more but it was basically White Bear wasn't it

idk none of the first 3 episodes have really wowed me too much, think they may be running out of ideas. Liked the idea of Playtest a lot more but the character wasn't too developed (not to say he didn't act his pants off, just found it hard to invest in the story)

Deirdre 28-02-2017 02:54 PM

watched the first 2 seasons on C4 and really liked it. Dunno why they moved to Netflix but seems everyone's jumping on the bandwagon now. Episode 3 was my favourite in s3. E1 I couldn't even finish it, utterly terrifying.
