Yeah he was obviously awful to Janice, but he also bullied Chloe-Jasmine for days because she didn't attend his brother's toast (yet another seemingly good deed done by Austin that became soooooooooo obviously self-serving by the end of it all) and really only lashed out at women. I get that he has abandonment issues that led him to go insane over James and I get that he has mommy issues that led him to be a blatant misogynist who hurled abuse at whatever woman was closest to him, but no. I'm so ****ing sick of this show throwing awful people at us with the angle of "wow, they've treated so many people completely awfully, but at least they're Real and Interesting and Complex and they really are carrying the show" like no. Sort that **** out with a therapist, not in the BB House.

I completely see the comparison (overly sensitive, have temper issues, unnecessarily personal and rude in arguments, then get all emotional in the diary room and blame someone else for their hard life/whatever Austin was crying about to make themself seem like they're in the right even when they're far from it) but that's the beauty of having different opinions isn't it

...like what? I don't know about you but I think those things are pretty vile to say to anyone. We're allowed to think that as viewers - and it isn't unusual for BB viewers to exaggerate their opinions a little in the heat of the moment (sorry to break it to you, but saying he's the greatest housemate of all time is more of an exaggeration than anything else)

(and yes I also apply the above to a lot of the things I've said about Chloe, which have never been all that serious)

Viewers sat in the comfort of their own home exaggerating opinions = okay

The whole concept of Big Brother is to make judgements on the people that you're watching (hence why I don't plan to go on Big Brother)

I think it's utterly ridiculous and frankly embarrassing that every Austin thread has to turn into "Let's talk about people who don't like Austin" time. And to be honest, if the best defence of him is to resort to making comments about the people who don't like him, clearly defending the things he said isn't proving all that easy.

We're not here to discuss those of who don't like him, we're here to discuss him. If you can't stick to that, a discussion forum really isn't the place for you.
