I'm a straight guy too.

I never thought that I'd see someone on this Forum that's also into women.:joker:

Admittedly it does give this Forum it's own feel.

I came on for this summers BB (coz y'know it was so exciting ). lol

I did find it a bit cliquey and I thought about leaving a couple of times to be honest. It might sound silly but it was a bit intimidating that you all seem to know each other and have banter and in-jokes and things, and I've never been a member of a forum before so I wasn't really sure what to expect, or what makes a good poster, and at first I was just testing the waters really, because none of my mates watch big brother and I just wanted a place to chat about it. I'm glad I stuck around though coz I've actually really enjoyed it and even sticking around after on-season and taking part in the non-BB things, I've realised that it just takes time to fit in, like anything I suppose. And I do feel more included now. I reckon a lot of people who come on for BB end up leaving maybe because they don't really feel like part of the community though so maybe it could be a good idea to actively try and get them involved in things, maybe invite them to chat on non BB threads (they might not be aware of all the other forums on tibb like I wasn't at first) or even just some kind of newbie introduction page where they can tell existing members about themselves and get to know people better. I'm not sure, but it is a good site so it would be nice to see more people getting involved and sticking around for longer.

I suppose it can seem cliquey and I'd be lying if I said there were never any kind of cliques formed on TiBB, but mostly I think it's less cliquey and more just groups of friends. Some people arrive and just kind of fit in, others take more time to settle in. I think the most telling part of this forum happens when one of us is injured, suffering some kind of loss or trauma... and [almost] everyone comes together to support that person. Despite the occasional trolls and dramas, it's a good place with lots of decent people.

also you get members who will pull any stunt to get up the ML ladder...

No joke Liam

kirklancaster 08-10-2015 11:44 AM

Did I have one of the rockiest 'induction' periods on here? I mean, getting embroilled on all those lovely 'Religion' threads with Leather and Kyle?

lostalex 08-10-2015 12:12 PM

we have a lot of new blood come through this forum, but really it's the old blood that keeps it alive.

I don't think the admins should be trying to attract new blood. Newbies always come and go, various seasons, especially when it's a hot season. But they don't stay. The admins should be more focused on nurturing and supporting the old blood that keeps this place alive.

...in my humble opinion.

Crimson Dynamo 08-10-2015 12:22 PM

Ashley is a great new addition and of course Kirk and his "journey"

and Marsh tries to keep things fresh by being banned and coming back

Ashley will be a great new addition once she gets her story straight.

Kirk is more of a fixture and fitting now...

Marshy. I lay awake worrying about that boy. And I don't like the way everyone uses his fan when he's not here.

See? Marshy's fan.

I don't think he's banned, is he? He'll be setting some kind of record if he is.

lostalex 08-10-2015 12:32 PM

I haven't noticed a lot of new regulars in serious debates. i do like kirk and marsh though, but i don't consider them new.

I really only notice people who post regularly in serious debates. i guess i kind of segregate myself around here. I've never gotten involved with the chat threads.
