CSL and I Don't care went to number 1 and her album went to number 7 |
Didn't Only Human reach #10 too?

Cheryl is joint with Jess Glynne with having the most number ones by a British Female
|
I think two #1s make up for a flop 3rd in the same era :joker:
Shall we talk about Tulisa's latest era not even picking up? :fan: |

Cheryl's latest single did flop, her husband even blamed her management for it and caused a bit of dram over it. Her support has been on the slide for the last 12 - 16 months imo, she came across badly in 2014's X Factor and even her die hard stans seem to have moved on

She was riding off the back of The Voice and X Factor, too. |
Cheryl and Rita are both now celebrities who happen to have music careers. The problem is that the UK doesn't produce popstars in the vein of American popstars so measuring them against each other is stupid - Jess Glynne has never done a choreographed performance in her life like Britney Spears but obviously the former would sing circles round the latter. The UK's all about the voice and the look rather than the performance artist spectacle and look so America brings out incredible all rounders who are the best at everything and that is celebrated and supported; whereas the UK is all about being a bit rough around the edges, we like to support the underdog, we like a bit of vulnerability and humility... it's why someone like Cher Lloyd is reviled in the UK for being up herself and cocky but managed to make some waves in the US for being confident and believing in herself... unfortunately, she can't dance and she's not that hot so she was never going to sell too well.
I mean, really, when have we ever produced a Beyonce or a Pink, somebody worth supporting for over a decade? |
Alexandra could sing and dance

I actually think Cher Lloyd calmed down, her 2nd album was much way mature but it flopped, is which a shame because it's better than her 1st album which did respectfully well.

As much as I'm not really a fan, Ellie has a good couple of years left
