I hate it when people chew with their mouths open or talk whilst eating. Please and thankyou is a must. We always eat at the table, but unless we have guests we all read while we eat.

:laugh: you may be right... But no, there's a right way and a wrong way to hold your cutlery! It really bugs me but it's the kind of thing I'd NEVER say to anybody

I can't say I have anything that particularly bothers me if I'm out for dinner with someone... only manners I'd really expect are being polite to the waiter / other staff, I think.

I don't mind if they check their phone from time to time (depends how often obviously :laugh:) and I don't really pay that much attention to how people eat their food (unless it's really noticeably gross).

what would i use it for though

I dont eat steaks and i just cut anything with the side of the fork
