2 Years or 2 civilian years, they should have done an upstairs v down stairs theme last year. 2 identical houses one up stairs one downstairs both the mirror opposites that have to compete instead of the others. 32 housemates, 16 on each floor, 2 get evicted each friday, no backdoors just doubles and triples. The game would have changed the eye would have worked stiil and sending one person from one floor to another as the houses would be mirrored would be funny to watch and physiologically confusing for them. Maybe do another first and have 2 winners. They should have put normal anon people in this year all different cultures and different walks of life.. Thats what they said they were gonna do. Instead we got half of the ex on the beach lot!

Oooh now this sounds bloody good.

I maintain it could be a fairly sucessful show if it went back to basics, and with NORMAL people rather than a bunch of semi-famous nobodies and people with agents.

I think even like 800k is decent for channel 5 anyway though?

And in a time when the TV is saturated with reality TV, having it go back to basics with normal people would really make it stand out from the crowd again.

Let Love Island do what they're doing and BB get back to doing what it did best.

"It's been 20 years and and everything has a shelf life" I truly believe she loves big brother and wants to see it last until 2020......20 years of big brother.

That's true and I believe the original cast should be brought back.......**** there were some crazy housemates

Whats the issue though? Cant they not do this cia the big brother section of channel 5's website? They would get more media attention from the press instantly. The live stream was a massive hit with the press during C4 days.

I mean it would be cute if it ran for 20 years

But if it ends next year then I guess it symbolises that BB lasted longer on the better channel?:clap1: (not for me, but for most other BB fans)

Yeah I was gonna say I think I'm one of the only ones who actually wants it to be axed.

I'd rather it be axed now than it be run even further into the ground past the point of it even being able to return to a good viewing figure in the future after a lengthy break.

And by 'break' I mean C5 cancelling it and it getting picked up by a different channel (ITV/ITV2 or C4 preferably) in a decades time or so.

Having it on until 2020 is a horrendous thought :worry:
If they've not made changes or listened now, they're not going to in the future. The format's reputation is already on its last legs.

I think its doomed, i dont think the producers will listen to our ideas or take them into consideration. They think they are boss when they really suck and need to be fired.

pontyboi 31-07-2017 11:32 PM

Even in bb14 live feed they just gave up and we've not even had an online substitute since. ...bb is the original and had people watching at their desks whilst working a boring 8 hour day ....this is what made big brother a reality TV show.

JTM45 01-08-2017 03:21 AM

I used to LIVE for BB when it was on Channel 4. Couldn't miss a single episode and the episodes never seemed to last long enough. Just seemed to whizz by because it was so entertaining!
This year i missed nearly an entire week in one go (and a day or two here and there) and when i watched again it felt like i'd missed nothing.

It's hard to know whether it would save it by putting it back to basics and getting real people instead of these losers they have these days. Compared to the crap they just gave us it would surely be worth a try though, surely ?

WHAT

Jedman 11-08-2017 06:43 AM

Do you think maybe Some people remember old big brother with rose tinted glasses? Not sure how well they would hold up if you watched them now and compared then to the recent series.

Captain.Remy 11-08-2017 08:51 PM

Jayne, Chanelle or Helen Wood to host after Emma gives it up.

The show is way less genuine today than what it was on C4.
But that's all the cases for reality tv shows that were not influenced by social media and less focused on housemates/participants concerned about their fame or followers. It's not just BB specific.

BB3/5/6 I think are above the rest, and that seems to be a common ground for most of the fan base.

Not really. A lot of people around here re-watch series and there are discussion threads dedicated to it. And clips/moments are brought up and discussed.

Also, it doesn't take an excellent series to hold up against the tripe they make now.
