There's nothing wrong with mum and dad. I'm not suggesting we should call them by their first names when we're older.

Mummy and daddy is just like the childish version. [emoji23]

No need to get aggressive in your posting.

You answered a question that wasn't asked.
That's the end of it.

Certainly is the end of it. As I've said, I was out of practice, now I know certain posters are only here to argue with their toenails I'll leave you to it. Off with ya, enjoy yourself. :smug:

Oi, my daughter calls me Mammy...online and in private.
She tends to call me mam if we are in company.
Son calls me Mammy when he is off his head.:joker:

People have a problem with this? it's just a dad and his daughters. Why do people always twist things to try and make it seem weird. Even if they're adults it might seem funny but there's nothing wrong in it .

If people want to talk about weird stuff then Trump mouth kissing his daughter and talking about dating her ,is real perverted :umm2: .

Lilac hills 22-01-2018 04:07 PM

Do people do this a lot? Jw I literally have no clue and my friend called it weird too

I don't understand this. Why shouldn't they talk about children, just because someone who doesn't have a child is around?

didn't realise we had to stick within parameters, and the conversation couldn't evolve, thanks for the heads up

I never said that. You and Paula were directly responding to a question I asked with a lecture about something else. I'm not interested. Move on.

That's not what rionablue said, she said "when the conversation was going on a bit".

I know what you mean though, no reason people shouldn't talk about it, on the other hand, no reason people shouldn't get bored with it.

I have grown kids and I can only stand conversations about other peoples kids for about 5 minutes tops, it's not interesting whether or not people pretend it is.

:hehe: Well at least they understand it and adopt their language according to the situation.

I was friends with someone up to the age of 18 who would still adopt a "baby voice" when he would try to get round his mum. It was EXCEPTIONALLY creepy to witness. :worry:

Im fully entitled to my opinion just as you are yours GH I am not TWISTING anything. I have never come across adult kids sitting on parents laps like that and maybe weird wasnt the right world but strange is more what I mean

Just be careful as things can be misinterpreted as something dodgy :nono:.

It felt like John was being implied to be a perv or something .

It's like when parents get grief for showing affection to their kids when it's innocent which is absurd ,I remember a video that circulated YT of a father & daughter dancing and he was carrying her,and people twisted it to make it seem dirty .

Cringe, no to baby voices.

I am dreading the day my son decides he's to big for a cuddle. My mum wasn't very tactile, I never doubted she loved me but she never told me and certainly wasn't a hugger. If I ever asked her if she loved me she said "I'll think about it". Just the way she was and my dad was much the same. I think I sometimes over do the affection with my son to compensate so I hope he continues wanting cuddles for ever.

There's nothing wrong with your kid doing that ,but just because John's kids are older , they're making him seem weird .
I don't like how this thread is implying something else is going on :suspect: .

Well I think pretty much everyone disagreed that it was weird anyway

odd sock 22-01-2018 07:11 PM

I adored my Dad when he was alive but no way would I have sat on his knee when I was an adult, plenty of ways to show affection but that is just weird.
