What the colours mean

Yellow: Severe weather is possible over the next few days and could affect you. Yellow means that you should plan ahead thinking about possible travel delays, or the disruption of your day to day activities. The Met Office is monitoring the developing weather situation and Yellow means keep an eye on the latest forecast and be aware that the weather may change or worsen, leading to disruption of your plans in the next few days.
Amber: There is an increased likelihood of bad weather affecting you, which could potentially disrupt your plans and possibly cause travel delays, road and rail closures, interruption to power and the potential risk to life and property. Amber means you need to be prepared to change your plans and protect you, your family and community from the impacts of the severe weather based on the forecast from the Met Office
Red: Extreme weather is expected. Red means you should take action now to keep yourself and others safe from the impact of the weather. Widespread damage, travel and power disruption and risk to life is likely. You must avoid dangerous areas and follow the advice of the emergency services and local authorities.

Snow has stopped again and the sun is shining

UK snow: Temperatures plunge to -9C as big freeze takes grip

[There is further disruption to travel
as weather intensifies around the UK,
with the possibility of blizzards later in the week.]

https://news.sky.com/story/uk-snow-b...nings-11269368

Some sad deaths today due to the bad weather:

[Three people died following a crash involving a car and a lorry on the A15 at
Baston in Lincolnshire. Police say the road conditions at the time will
form part of their investigation, adding it was snowy at the time.
A man was killed after a three-car collision on the A47 in Cambridgeshire,
while another man suffered "possibly life-threatening" injuries after a van hit
a tractor carrying a livestock trailer on the A30 in Devon.]

LukeB 27-02-2018 05:20 PM

It snowed then stopped the snowed and stopped.

Its not that bad as the reports made it out to be

Jøsh 27-02-2018 05:31 PM

Snowed over earlier this morning, about a 10th of a meter deep? Melted as the day progressed but a light drizzle at certain intervals.

Crimson Dynamo 28-02-2018 07:20 AM

3 inches of powder snow, drifting and - 6

Schools shut

thesheriff443 28-02-2018 07:24 AM

Light dusting of snow, not snowing now.

Crimson Dynamo 28-02-2018 07:31 AM

dont pay any notice to twitter generated snow maps or indeed twitter at all for weather info as

People cant estimate snow depth

People cant describe conditions "its a fckng blizzard bruv"

Young people have not got a clue about weather

:skull:

Niamh. 28-02-2018 07:32 AM

Totally snowed in now

RileyH 28-02-2018 07:37 AM
