UK and Ireland were so dominant with Ireland winning 7 and UK 5 and the UK also came runner up over 20 times.

But since more countries were invited to join it became a vote for your neighbours contest and you can tell who is gonna get 12 from most of the countries

Germany or France do too. Don't see them having an annual hangover if they don't win.
Besides, nobody is forcing Britain. Pull out like we're pulling out of EU.

You said we should follow suit and send something fun, we have and it never worked - nothing will short of totally scrapping the public vote will get us the win now.

Scooch was 10 years ago and i would say times have changed since then? A fun song could work for us now (depending on the song and live performance) to not flop badly? We will never win but a top 10 is possible which would be great for us.

We did so well last year (our highest placing in years) so with the right song with a lot of effort into it we could go higher than 15.

Crimson Dynamo 10-05-2018 11:57 AM

we have not put a decent song in for many a year

i mean fecking ages

I likes Engelberts but Scootch was the last sort of go at it

Germans are in the same boat as us but the broadcaster doesnt want to host again at this point

Denver 10-05-2018 11:58 AM

Robbie wants to represent us next year like him or not he could do well?

LukeB 10-05-2018 11:59 AM

How do we go from Lucie Jones to Surie?

Denver 10-05-2018 11:59 AM

SuRie is not even bad at all

And what would be your guess as to why they may hate Britain?
Btw, I don't agree they do. They have ambivalent attitude to Britain, yes, but it is not hate.

The rules should be changed. Countries could be divided into geographical blocks based on their past voting. Then they would only be allowed to vote for countries from other blocks, not their own. Of course it'd have to be weighed correctly, e.g. same number of countries in each block, etc

LukeB 10-05-2018 12:01 PM

Surie is too awkward and Storm is a meh song.. disappointing we had a great position last year and we go back to flopping

Portugal and Austria are just 2 countries from 8 years who survived block voting

Clearly not.

It's a bop but Fuego is better! Although in saying that, I still hope this wins because last year's winner Mr "music isn't fireworks" Salvador has said that he hates the song and "nothing has changed since I won." Twat! Hope she wins so he has to hand the trophy over to her

Lol.
Who is he to dictate? There's room for all sorts of stuff, not just his brand of music

true, Jamala had a great song, great message as well in it

Shaun 10-05-2018 12:48 PM

*waits patiently for anyone with a decent memory to even remember how Jamala's song goes*

miserable cow. Salvador's >>>>>>>>>>>>>

Of the past ten years it goes:

1) Alexander Rybak - Fairytale
2) Salvador Sobral - Amar Pelos Dois
3) Loreen - Euphoria (I understand why most people would put it top, but it's overrated)
4) Conchita Wurst - Rise Like a Phoenix
5) Emmelie de Forest - Only Teardrops
6) Ell & Nikki - Running Scared
7) Lena - Satellite
8) Mans Zelmerlow - Heroes
9) Dima Bilan - Believe
10) Jamala - 1944

It probably has one of the most iconic starts to a snog in Eurovision history

Morgan. 10-05-2018 12:51 PM

Jamala and Salvador are the worst to winners I've seen since I started watching (and I've watched for bloody ages) so I hope there's a good winner this time around.

Denver 10-05-2018 12:52 PM

Bulgaria should have won last year

I'm a simple person and you should just reply and say it that you feel uncomfortable with me asking for advice on how to deal with me being accused of hiding my identity
I can take no for an answer
as it is, I felt **** that somebody I admire on here can't be bothered
how am I supposed to learn what's acceptable to ask and what's not?
I'm not good at reading signals

Greg! 10-05-2018 01:19 PM

I loved Jamala's song
