One of my rules was that I would not put any events in my book that had not already happened in what James Joyce called the 'nightmare' of history, nor any technology not already available. Season 2 had to break away from the book, as the ending of S1 was the ending of the book...so they had to just go their own way after that, apparently Atwood is helping with the storyline though, as she imagined happened next but didn't write.

I watch the series and also read the book. Got the book about halfway through the series.

Oh I'm glad she's got some input into it, it's a brilliant series, the characters are so creepy and the actors play them all so well I think
