Screaming I KNEW Becky would be cackling at Efimova

Headie 06-08-2018 05:43 PM

Efimova is only 26 which means we've got at least another 4 years of Becky dragging her <3

Honestly GB need to host a European Champs, the atmosphere would be so amazing and the crowd would get to see GB win far more medals than they do at the Worlds :flutter: I can't believe they've never hosted one before

I'm really surprised at that, I'd have thought a Europeans would be easier to acquire than a Worlds  agree though, I'm intrigued to see the response to this multi-sport format and what they do going forward cause I think it's been a great idea. How often could you do it though? Surely holding it in an Olympic year kind of takes away from that, but the meets have got to go ahead regardless so  guess we'll see!

I don't believe we've ever hosted a World Swimming champs either so I'd like one in London plz

Jack_ 06-08-2018 05:55 PM

Oh I just googled and appaz they're doing another one in 2022

Makes sense

Headie 06-08-2018 06:01 PM

I'm SO excited for tomorrow, the Men's and Women's 100m semi finals and finals, there's a very good possibility of us snatching both Golds :clap1:

I'm most interested to see who's gonna come out on top between Hughes and Prescod (if Vicaut doesn't beat them both )

Headie 06-08-2018 06:11 PM

This elimination cycling track race is my favourite non-Athletics event I think, it's so fun to watch <3

Is it a standalone event as well or just part of the Omnium?

Headie 06-08-2018 06:23 PM

Katie Archibold!!!

Black Dagger 06-08-2018 07:57 PM

Is the mixed relay in the Tokyo programme because that is so exciting and I need Peaty to get more than one medal x

Stand alone in everything but Olympics. Laura Kenny won it yesterday. It's been her speciality event.

Thankfully yes :clap1: they've also added the 1500m free for women and the 800 for men to bring parity to the distance events

I personally think they should've added the other 50m strokes too, we could've had Ben Proud in the fly and Peaty in the breakstroke too

Headie 07-08-2018 07:56 AM

This coverage is all wrong... WHY is Mark Foster sat next to Denise Lewis speaking about Athletics??? And why's Hazel fronting it? (unless she's just there for the morning ones)

Also not a fan of cutting away from the action to chat in the Glasgow studio when there's no other sports on right now and more heats to come.

Headie 07-08-2018 08:06 AM

I'm switching to Eurosport for now

Headie 07-08-2018 08:34 AM

Kevin Mayer is so fine

Headie 07-08-2018 09:07 AM

Public's fave Lynsey Sharp is on now, lets hope she qualifies to save us hearing her whine and moan in her post-race interview

Headie 07-08-2018 09:13 AM

OMG @ Kevin Mayer following in the footsteps of his training partner KJT and fouling 3 times in the Long Jump :o

He was the overwhelming favourite coming into this, now it's wide open

Headie 07-08-2018 09:21 AM

All 3 GB girls through the 800m

LOL @ this Belgian girl having a meltdown on the track for trying to push through everyone then collapsing and crying when she tripped on someone's feet

Headie 07-08-2018 09:29 AM

All 3 French decathletes had 3 fouls in the Long Jump oh my word :joker:

Sorry but watching Denise and Mark constantly comparing Swimming and Athletics with each other is lowkey hilarious :joker:

Macie Lightfoot 07-08-2018 02:45 PM

American networks are too good to cover Euros but wow @ Kevin Mayer #AthleticsBlindside

three Borlees winning three heats though :clap1:

Headie 07-08-2018 02:57 PM

Jeanette Kwakye is such a good addition to the BBC team, definitely a great replacement for Phil 'non-interviewer' Jones

Black Dagger 07-08-2018 03:18 PM

Balding was hyping up a 1-2-3 in the men's 100m final so now I'm expecting just a bronze x

Jack_ 07-08-2018 05:00 PM

Freya does it again :clap1:

Headie 07-08-2018 05:01 PM

100m Semis on Red Button now, Dina's about to run

Headie 07-08-2018 05:07 PM

10.93 from Dina in her semi, one hundredth off her British record :o

Ross. 07-08-2018 05:07 PM

Not Gabby still doing the Athletics

Free Helen Skelton!

Saw that lol. Felt a tad sorry for her but wasn't it her own fault?

Yeah it was definitely her fault lmao the replay showed it clearly, she got boxed in

Barry. 07-08-2018 05:10 PM

I saw the three girls making finales too which is great. When is the finales on?

The 800m Final? In a few days, there's still the semis to do yet.

Headie 07-08-2018 05:13 PM

Poor start from Daryll, not sure 11.27 will be quick enough to see her advance as a fastest loser.

Headie 07-08-2018 05:20 PM

Lansiquot through as fastest loser :clap1: Daryll is out though sadly

Screaming @ this #HotSeat thing tho, making the fastest losers stand/sit in a waiting/seating area whilst cameras are shoved in their faces as they react to the other race times :joker: Six Chair Challenge who?

Headie 07-08-2018 05:23 PM

Here come the guys :clap1:

Why do I feel like a disaster is about to happen with one of our medal chances :worry:

Headie 07-08-2018 05:27 PM

**** Vicaut looks in good form, I thought he was still a tad injured

Prescod needs a better start for the final

Headie 07-08-2018 05:33 PM

Zharnel :worship:

Headie 07-08-2018 05:39 PM

All 3 GB men through to the final :clap1:

Headie 07-08-2018 05:52 PM

Nick Miller flopped, I'm not surprised  He's very hit and miss

Omg it does :joker:

Headie 07-08-2018 06:02 PM

Tim Duckworth <3 We love an American with British parents <3

He has a good shot at a medal now that Kevin Mayer is out, but he'll need to be consistent.
