I personally don't rate slimming world Alfie, especially not for males. It lists pasta, rice and potato as "free foods" :umm2:... if you exceed your calories on that sort of bulk you'll end up with A) a belly and B) vitamin and mineral deficiencies. It also tends to be a bit low on protein if you're also exercising.

Eat fresh (ONLY fresh), cut out sugar, cut out bulk wheat totally (this means primarily wheat-based products, you don't have to fret over a bit of flour in a sauce etc.), heavily reduce other grains / rice / potatoes, increase veg (especially green veg), fruit, and nuts. Plenty of lean meat protein / fish + moderate other meats (basically don't worry about meat, it's hard to overeat unprocessed meat, you'll get full and stop).

Cut your portion sizes. Most people have twice as much on their plate as they should. Half an hour of cardio / HIIT every day, lift heavy stuff for a bit 3 times a week.

You'll be hollywood buff in no time

Maybe so but it worked for me so I don't give a **** :p I stopped going when i reached my target about 5 weeks ago anyway

I suppose for me, it was a bit of structure and having to go get weighed kept me focused, also for the first 4 weeks writing down everything you ate helped alot

No worries, I understand what you're saying but for me I felt I needed a bit of structure and someone to answer to every week to keep me focused but I didn't have loads to lose either.

Well that's the thing, it's a placebo really... if it works I suppose it doesn't matter, but people think it works miracles when, if you actually take a look at what has happened... it's as simple as that people are eating less overall, have cut out processed food, and are exercising more. Groups do help with focus though. It's just the "rules" that are daft... and I do take major issue with the things that they consider "free foods" as it heavily encourages people with previously unhealthy eating habits to still bulk out on empty carbs, and if you do that for more than a few months, you'll end up with vitamin A&C, iron, magnesium and potassium deficiencies. Too many people will skip green veg if they're being offered potatoes etc. as a "sin free" alternative.

Yeah but tbf to them they do tell people all this during the meetings (not that I really went to many of them) They do stress that while foods like potatoes, pasta etc are "free" replacing part of a portion you'd normally have with "speed foods" which are proper veg will make you lose weight faster.

One of my fav things to eat atm is a chicken stirfry.
You can get a pack of fresh stirfry veg from the fresh fruit and veg section, get some chicken, bit of vegetable oil and a low cal chowmein or other sauce, plus some soy sauce to put on your chicken while frying and wok it.
You can literally fill your plate and be full for hours while getting loads of protein.Tastes great and only like 500 - 600kcals.

i fluctuate between normal and overweight I'm quite tall though so even when I do gain weight its unclockable

hijaxers 26-07-2018 04:15 PM

I have gained a bit but deffo not obese, none of my family are - well i lie my brother was (he's dead) no one misses him or his big fat nasty mouth.

Beso 26-07-2018 04:17 PM

Just on my penis bits.

Maru 26-07-2018 05:11 PM

Sodas are the bane of my existance, but I don't bring them into the home (i.e. store)... so yeah I may pick up a few pounds from that every once in a while if we're going out a lot. But I do tend to avoid things like pizza... I'm like, if it has a decent amount of protein and some greens please, then we'll talk.... some fat and obviously sugar is OK for energy. So starving yourself is equally catastrophic for the body... we already have a heard enough time getting the right nutrients with a crap American diet.

In general, I try to stay active, but my walking schedule has been messed up by having been in physical therapy for 6-8 weeks. But, I'm back to normal for the most part ... still have pain from a pinched nerve, but switched to all natural stuff for treatment and got off those awful meds...

I walk 2-3 miles a day with my puppy(ies)... my favorite is to walk along the bayou(s) and take beautiful pictures.

Also I have to continue exercises at home to help things heal. But yeah, I fluctuate between 120-126lb?... the womanlies will do that too, but I'm ever so slightly overweight for my height.. which is 5'0". I want to say I read my "normal" was 112-116... I was at 118-120, but then we had a wedding and well, my husband and I just had such a good time these past few weeks

Though largely, I prefer tea and coffee.

Depends entirely on the person , plus doesn't muscle weigh more than fat and it depends on height .

Obviously if you're unhealthy without exercise & eat badly then you're probably going to gain weight or you're probably already overweight or obese .

Northern Monkey 27-07-2018 05:35 PM

I think i’m going to be weight fluid.

Just however i feel on the day.

Today i’m skinny with a 20 BMI.

If we can do it with gender then I don’t see why we can’t with weight tbh.
