What a lovely photo, Nicky. Her kids look so happy.

"True Blue" was #1 last night on BBC4'S classic Top of the Pops. (Her 3rd UK #1 in a year)

See I don’t know what it is
But I’m attracted to the dark
And it was easy to predict
You were gonna be the one who broke my heart
You were gonna be the one who tore it apart
Make me fall down on my knees and start to pray
You were gonna be the one that got away

"Addicted" should've been on the standard edition of the album instead of just the deluxe. Love it.

It really was great. I loved all of the bonus tracks on the super deluxe. Graffiti Heart and Beautiful Scars :flutter:

Perched for the new album. Hoping the Mirwais reunion brings the goods! American Life is probs my favourite album of hers.

Oh yeah, some of the bonus tracks were better than some of what ended up on the album. lol. The ballad versiion of "Jaon of Arc" was also meant to be on the super deluxe but they dropped it at the last minute - shame really, as I thought it was the best version.

I like American Life, but it's a bit to preachy / political for me... I prefer "Music", tbh.

What did you think of the other album's?

Nancy. 29-11-2018 03:38 PM

I'm not sure what she means by finishing ther album...they complete it a couple of weeks ago apparently... unless she means shooting the album artwork etc...

I think Rebel Heart, as much as I love it, would've been better suited as a double album with the 'rebel' and the 'heart' tracks split up. Or edited down a lot more. One or the other haha.

I've loved almost everything by her. My least favourite album would probably be MDNA but even then I bop to it.

Like a Prayer, I'm Breathless, Erotica, Ray of Light, Confessions... I could go on...

 I'm loving how much of a fan you are.
The albums you listed are what I consider to be her best too... her masterpieces. MDNA has it's moments but I felt they went with the wrong song choice for the single - it should've been "I'm Addicted" or "Gang Bang". "Falling Free" is so beautiful.

Yes, Madonna said a double album was her initial plan for the RH album, but Interscope didn't like it and that's why they were all jumbled up.

One disc for the Rebel songs like "Unapologetic Bitch" and the second one for songs like "Wash All Over Me" and "Heartbreak City". I would have been interesting to see how that turned out.

Scoot 30-11-2018 09:21 AM

Yeah, I've been a big fan for about 10 years now
I really liked Hung Up/Sorry/Jump but it wasn't until 4 Minutes came out that I actually dived in and started listening to everything by her.
Madonna, then Prince, then Kylie, then Gaga, all came into my life around that time. Truly magical.

Went to Melbourne to see the Rebel Heart Tour, it was amazing.
The show I was at is actually what they use in the DVD when she throws the bouquet and has the conversation with the audience member.

Scoot 06-12-2018 01:45 AM

The single for ‘Take a Bow’ was released 24 years ago today. In the US it was her second most successful single of the 1990s behind ‘Vogue’

Wow, you sound like you really went for it when you became a fan.

I adored the "Confessions" era....and loved a lot of songs from HC too. I think "Give It 2 Me" is fab.
Apparently, Stuart Price was penned to produce that album until she ended up going down the R&B route with Pharrell. I would've loved a video of "Candy Shop" (even though that song is disliked by a lot of fans)

Omg, you were at the Melbourne show? It must've been strange seeing the spider cam all over the place. I have the BluRay and must've watched it 20x. I've been to a few of hers shows, but I think Blond Ambition, Drowned World, Confessions, MDNA and RH are the best. Will you be attending the new show next year?

You've listed some great artists there...Prince was fantastic live - I saw him at the 02 back in 2007 and he blew me away. What a sad end to a wonderful artist though. Same with MJ and George Michael. All of them made so many great records but died so tragically young.

I saw Kylie a few years ago too and it was such good fun.

Who else do you like?

Confessions  probably my favourite era. Everything was so cohesive and worked so well together :flutter:
Am I right in saying ‘Candy Shop’ was originally going to be the lead single? Her love for it certainly suggests so  I don’t actually mind it, Hard Candy is pretty underrated in general.

If she comes to Australia again definitely, I’ll try to go to as many shows as possible

I managed to see Prince live twice - once in 2012 in Melbourne and in 2016 in Sydney just a few months before he died. Was such amazing shows, I remember saying to my mum after the 2016 show that if he never came back to Australia I’d be okay with that because it was the best concert I’d ever been to. I didn’t realise of course that he’d never actually have the chance to again </3

Kylie I’ve seen twice before for the Aphrodite and Kiss Me Once tours.

I’m also quite a big Bruce Springsteen and Janelle Monáe fan :hee:

Dropped in to say Die Another Day is ahead of its time and so underrated!

Yes, The Confessions album was brilliant, and the tour could be her best from the 00's. I saw it live and that opener for Future Lovers alone was stunning.

Yes, you're right, Madonna originally wanted "Candy Shop" for the lead single but Warners said "4 Minutes" was the strongest. "Heartbeat" would've made another good single too, same with "Beat Goes On" or "Devil..."

Prince was one of a kind...what a performer.
I enjoyed everything he did in the 80's, but his music from 96+ took a massive nosedive. I absolutely love "The Gold Experience" and wish he had released more singles from it. I wasn't keen on "Chaos and Disorder" at all, but his music did pick up again with "Musicology" and "3121".

Kylie's good live too. She's already talking about her next album and said she thinks it'll be disco inspired, which is fine by me as I prefer her when she's making disco music.

I don't know much about Janelle Monáe, but I adore Bruce Springsteen. He's another one of my idols. Have you seen him live?

A reliable source who revealed inside info on her performing at the MET gala, "The Secret Project" and "W.E" have said we should "brace ourselves" as the new era will begin very soon. His previous information on past projects has always been right, so we believe him.

Can't wait. :cheer2:

Idk for her next era if I want her to go down traditional dancey music like Into the Groove or back to her avant garde stuff (Bedtime Story/Justify my Love etc)

Yeah, me too.

Based on Mirwais's involvement and the dance clip we've already heard, I don't think the album will be as Portuguese tinged as much as we're expecting, but I can't wait.

Can't believe it's been 4 years since the RH demo's leaked. D:

Another reliable poster on Nation has just posted this..

http://forums.madonnanation.com/inde...omment=2697442

"Okay, so... Some info I got from someone apparently in the know. It's not world shocking information, but interesting nonetheless and time will tell how trustworthy this info really is, but I decided to share it regardless. If only for us all to have something to discuss during the holidays:

- Do not expect anything in 2018.

- Official info will begin to be shared little by little in the first weeks of January.

- At the moment the definitive track listing is not done yet.

- She really put her heart and soul into this album. No fillers here.

- "Killers" is indeed a killer track.

- She didn't play it safe. She took risks musically and he really means RISKS. Some of the tracks people will be like "WOW, what is that?!" At first listen. Of course a couple of tracks are less innovative, more commercial. But even those are top notch.

- Some tracks you can't compare to any other music out there really, at least not that he knows of.

The only thing is that it's not a very cohesive album as a whole. But the tracks are so out of this world that you couldn't care less about cohesiveness. but according to him, the album is not messy (as he thinks "Rebel Heart" was).

- It's no secret that there will be Latino influences on the album so to a certain extent people who love tracks like "Spanish Lesson" will be happy. But of course the Latino tracks do not sound like "Spanish Lesson". They are way better. The influences on this album are incredible.

- In his opinion, this is her best album since COADF."

http://forums.madonnanation.com/inde...omment=2697810

Some more info from my source. Again, I have no way to verify this information as of yet, so take this for what it is at the moment. We'll know early January if the source was true in his statements as he said that in the first few weeks of January we would be getting some official news!

- Don't worry about the features on the new album. They are hot and really bring something to the tracks.

- He really stressed the fact that she really did the album her own way this time. This is her vision and she put her heart and soul in to it.

- Some song titles on the board that we saw in the picture/video from the recording studio were working titles, and some are the real titles.

- "Beautiful game" is still there, but not with the same title. It's not going to be a single though. It has never been considered to be the lead single.

- It's a very positive album. Not many angry songs. She's in a place in her life where she feels good inside, with her children being the joy of her life. She doesn't need a man for the sake of it and you can feel it in the new music.

- Some tracks are perfect for the summer.
