He wanted to get back quickly so they looked at Private jets and his agent picked the 1st one avaible.

He told friends the plane was falling apart and was scared and the plane took 4 times to get off the runway.

As I said I know it's stupid to even think of such a thing, but from a footballing stance this is a cruel blow to Cardiff / their transfer window from a pragmatic POV.

Anyway, typing all of that made me feel gross and tactless, so I'll reiterate my sadness at what is most likely his passing. How many others were aboard?

I get what you mean Shaun, tbh I've been wondering about it myself.

An awful event to happen regardless, especially after we've not that long ago mourned the Leicester owner and the four other people that died during the Leicester Helicopter crash, a truly awful year for Football in terms of health & safety.

He will have been insured by Cardiff, he is now their player, it doesn't really matter if it was only for a couple of hours, so Nantes will keep their fee and the insurance will pay out for Cardiff if they find a body, not sure what will happen if they don't

Okay, thanks for the explanation.

I'm still gonna hold out some hope that he is still alive until they find a body that says otherwise.

i saw possible location is near Guernsey, maybe our Smithy knows more

LaLaLand 24-01-2019 11:56 AM

There's been possible flare sightings coming from a small bird island reserve in the channel, being investigated.

It's tiny but a small plane could easily land on it apparently if need be.

Imagine if they are found alive that would be incredible

LaLaLand 24-01-2019 11:59 AM

Reading the article though I don't think it's anything to get excited about sadly.

The Island of Burhoa has been searched by foot with nothing found.

Search continues around coastal areas

LaLaLand 24-01-2019 03:25 PM

The search has been called off.

The search for missing footballer Emiliano Sala and pilot David Ibbotson has been called off after rescuers failed to find their plane.

Cardiff City's Argentine striker, 28, and Mr Ibbotson, from Crowle, Lincolnshire, were on the aircraft that disappeared from radar on Monday.

After three days of scouring the English Channel, authorities made the decision to abandon the search.

But Sala's sister Romina pleaded with rescuers to keep looking for him.

Guernsey Police tweeted at 15:15 GMT to say rescuers were "no longer actively searching" for the plane.

Harbourmaster Capt David Barker said the chances of survival were "extremely remote".

"We reviewed all the information available to us, as well as knowing what emergency equipment was on board, and have taken the difficult decision to end the search," he added.

A part-time pilot and gas engineer was drafted in at the 11th hour to fly the plane carrying £15million Premier League footballer Emiliano Sala, the Daily Telegraph understands. Sources close to the investigation said officials in Nantes, north-west France, had been expecting an experienced pilot who regularly flew footballing figures around Europe. Instead, Dave Ibbotson, a gas engineer whose main flying activity was taking parachutists for jumps, was at the controls. (The Telegraph) Investigators will now inspect whether the pilot had the correct licence. (Evening Standard

It seems like 2019 is gonna be another depressing year then.

Hopefully the family get treated with respect over the next few days at the very least.

Denver 25-01-2019 07:20 PM

The messages between Sala and the agent have been released and are heart breaking

He was expecting to be on a jet and was told he could take a fair bit of luggage with him.

You could tell he wasn't sure about the flight

Denver 25-01-2019 07:21 PM

His family and freinds and some fans are planning an independent search with boats

Denver 25-01-2019 07:22 PM

There has been calls from. A lot of people to resume the search.

The more people ask for more likely they will.

Some of the most famous players are leading the calls for a search

Denver 25-01-2019 07:23 PM

I would happily accept out government blowing funds into it

Denver 25-01-2019 07:36 PM

I've donated to the go fund me and I'd say any one who has a spare bit of money should.

Denver 26-01-2019 04:00 PM

The search is set to resume after 130k was raised in 2 days

thesheriff443 26-01-2019 05:00 PM

130 thousand is a weeks wages to the top footballers.

To give the families piece of mind.

I just don't think in a scenario like this that the bodies will be found. As harsh as it sounds.

Exactly, they get together quick enough if they were roasting a girl in a hotel room.

thesheriff443 27-01-2019 10:39 AM

All planes should have black boxes fitted to them.

I agree.

bots 27-01-2019 11:48 AM

Not wishing to be harsh, but any search now is a waste of time. If anything is going to be found it will be through natural means from debris being washed up on a beach or caught in fishing nets.

:o

uh sorry but if it crashed into sea, then sometimes you don't find bodies, just body parts

Nicky91 27-01-2019 11:52 AM

and i can know this because i watch a lot of that show air crash investigation, at aircrashes they don't usually recover all bodies, only what they can find from crashes in the sea

and sharks might've also eaten the remains (as horrible that sounds, but it could be a possibility)

Denver 27-01-2019 05:32 PM

Search has be resumed with 2 fishing vessels sent out privately

Part of the plane has washed up on a beach in France

Denver 30-01-2019 01:12 PM

2 seat Cushions were washed up on Monday morning and after investigation it was confirmed they most likely came from the plane

Can you not just edit all of this into one post? I find it weird how obsessive you're being with this story.
