The allegations made by Jesse describe a terrible event, and I hope those behind it get what's coming to them. But to say that's representative of the West as a whole is as silly as someone who says "The mozlum's r taken over" when they walk past a halal shop.

I've not seen that in day to day life, nor has anyone in my family or friends.

I'm okay with that, does the "gay community" even have a need anymore? Gays aren't a downtrodden underclass anymore lol. I feel more community with that tattooed weirdo I see on rock music night at the pub, than I do most of the gays from my local gaybar.

To say we aren’t a ‘downtrodden underclass’ is an extremely crude over-simplification. I have no idea what your experiences have been, but to say that there’s no need for a pro-LGBT movement is highly ignorant. And anyway, even if we did achieve equality, that doesn’t mean the community needn’t exist.

If you don’t want to identify with the community, fine, but don’t drag them down.

Oh, honey, I wouldn't even know Troye Sivan existed if it weren't for all the media outlets I follow on social media discussing his sexuality :p

Never heard of him

Oliver is on the right, Monteh
things are always right if you're on the right ;)
it's easier: if you don't acknowledge there's problem you don't have to deal with it

Why bring up the fact I'm on the right? That has nothing to do with anything, least of all gayness; even (most!) right wing politics are either indifferent or supportive toward homos.
