The Que sera, sera scene with Norma and Barbara in The Royle Family.
Gervais and Merchant are geniuses at this kind of writing. The scenes between Tim and Dawn in The Office special are near perfect. There's a scene in Gavin and Stacey where Gavin and Stacey are in the car having just found out the reason Stacey can't get pregnant, is down to Gavin. There's no dialogue in the scene it's just pure acting at its best. Gavin is trying to hold back the tears and Stacey is worried for Gavin, beautiful scene. |
Any of Ricky Gervais tv shows..not his stand up.
I can't get enough of his tv shows though, he has me sobbing all the time. Derek and after life especially. |

Milligan, Cleese, Everett.....Sessions. :laugh::laugh:
Love the way he only names two geniuses but four comedians. |

Tv comedies have always had pathos, but I think the first that really went in for the kill to make people physically cry was John Sullivan with Only Fools and Horses, and that's were the influence of today's comedy writers come from. |
In his new shown after life.
He is in his local testis buying a single can of dog is food, the young girl on the till asks him if that's everything and he says yes....and she goes..awwwww. But then his dad in hospital, made me cry at times.. A genius. |

Jack Duckworth's death in Corrie.
Vera's was sad... but when she comes back as a ghost to "fetch" Jack and they have a little dance... Bawled my eyes out. Can't watch again but: |
I also remember this really upsetting me as a little kid, must have been about 6 or 7 at the time. Legend Helen!

There wasn't a dry eye in the UK the night Hilda left Corrie. It terms of Legend in soapland, Hilda will always rank at number 1 |
Of course there was always hope from the nation that one day Hilda would return. And she did for a one off, they sent Betty up to Derbyshire to see her.
Hilda and Vera have an argument, Vera is with Ivy Tilsly (Nick's grandma) Hilda arguing with Elsie Tanner |

These scenes on Everwood (if anyone remembers it) gave me chills the first time I watched it.

Rewatched this iconic Hollyoaks death and it still gets me. Can't believe it'll be 10 years. One of the most shocking and saddest soap deaths ever.
The last 10 minutes. https://www.dailymotion.com/video/xxbxdc |

Who were those two twins that died in it years ago (must’ve been around 2007 or so?). I remember that on TV vaguely, I think they died in a fire or something like that. |
These scenes from The Mentalist (if anyone’s seen it) were quite chilling when I first watched. First is when Patrick finds his daughter murdered.
And then when he thinks he found/ confronted the killer |

Final one I’ll post here and although not a TV series, did make me upset. Can’t believe how long ago this was.
