and I'm sure the same people here would condone the use of the police on the yellow vest movement in France?

Er....
Just seen images of two of them stood on a train to hold it up. Why are they targeting public transport if they’re worried about global warming? Surely they want more people on public transport rather than in cars. |

I admire what they are trying to do but here in the west we are so in thrall to consumerism I think apart from slinging a few plastic bottles in the recycling, people really aren't going to change their habits that much...
For instance, this thread sank like a stone http://www.thisisbigbrother.com/foru...t=fast+fashion |
Sure Cherie
but loads of these Middle Class Group have stupid demands Ban Air Travel Ban Cars Disconnect Gas Boilers in the UK Both Labour or Conservative would never do those bans |

Considering how close to a precipice we are and how many lives climate change could end if we fall over the precipice, a broken window doesn't matter in the slightest.
The truth of the matter is that we are ****ed, the children even more so because climate change is their future and everything is just ****ed. |

I mean, I’m all for the cause, something does need to happen about the environment, it’s a critical issue, but smashing windows and disrupting innocent people’s days isn’t going to endear many people to feel sympathy for your cause, vandalism doesn’t make you a martyr, it makes you a common criminal

given that a couple of towns in China do more environmental damage than the entirety of the UK, I think their anger is misdirected

There was a book once called SuperFreakonomics sequel to Freakonomics that said that global warming could be combated by putting sulfur dioxide into the atmosphere, that would dim the effect of the sun and cool the planet, for relatively low cost.
I don't know how realistic it is. Here's some links - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strato...osol_injection https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SuperF...arming_section https://www.technologyreview.com/s/5...lobal-warming/ https://www.wired.com/2008/06/ff-geoengineering/ |

Yes Very True. |
Oh that sounds genius. Let's but a toxic chemical into our breathing space... one that is naturally caused by the burning of fuels so it must be good... one that can easily convert into other harmful compounds... but it's for global warming
