I feel like Sony have hijacked this tech advance a bit (probably with permission/in conjunction with Epic... but still) as this is more about the capabilities of Unreal 5 than the hardware (though of course, the hardware has to be good enough to run it). It is impressive though. I wouldn't expect to see games like this until maybe 2023 though, it takes devs a few years to get to grips with a new engine and push it to its capabilites. Tech demos like this are a different beast, as they'll have spent 6+ months optimising this few-minute-long segment, which obviously isn't a workable timeframe for making a whole game.
There was 6 years between the "Kara" tech demo and the release of Detroit: Become Human :umm2:. |

It's funny watching all the racist anime profile pics on Twitter going mad over the presentation being delayed.

100% getting this. Hopefully it's not just a PS4 with a new number to it :fc:

£599 starting price in the UK :skull:
|
they seem to say that the 599 price was an Amazon place holder ... it was the same price for 3 different models
|
tbh I'd pay £600 so long as it meant quality hardware. Consoles have a habit of cutting a few too many corners.

["While there's still a lot of unanswered questions about the PS5, namely price and release date, I think Sony did exactly what they needed to with this reveal event," commented Laura Kate Dale, a freelance games critic. "It showed off an hour of games, mixing sequels to popular titles, and new franchises from its biggest first-party studios, for a solid hour. "People on Twitter are very split on whether they like or hate the look of the box, but overall Sony spent an hour getting people excited." So many people remarked that the console looked like a "wi-fi router", that the term trended on Twitter shortly after the event.] |
Project athia has a 2023 release date why did they even show it :skull:

Resident Evil 8 was the highlight for me although Spiderman and Horizon came close.
Witches in Resident Evil? I am all the way here for it. |

PS5 Digital Edition price reported but Sony faces PS5 supply issues
[Apparently, the slow-down at the factory is due to the intricacies of the PS5's revolutionary system-on-chip. The sources claim that production yield for Sony's SOC chips has dropped as low as 50%, meaning 1 in 2 is deemed not good enough. Fingers crossed we'll find out more at tomorrow's PS5 showcase. The Japanese giant says the 40-minute virtual event will feature "a look at some of the great games coming to the PS5 at launch (and beyond!)". The event begins this Wednesday, 16th September at 1pm PDT / 9pm BST / 10pm CEST. As it stands, Microsoft is leading the race for Christmas sales, having announced that the Xbox Series X will cost £449 ($499, AU$749) and the Series S £249 ($299, AU$499). Xbox pre-orders begin from 22nd September.] https://www.whathifi.com/news/ps5-di...-supply-issues |
