even though production was delayed, here a bit more detailed description of Dominion

Quote:

Jurassic World 3 Release Date, Cast and Details

Director Colin Trevorrow closes out the Jurassic World Trilogy with Jurassic World: Dominion, which is set to arrive in 2021.

Jurassic World: Dominion is the title of the 2021-scheduled third film in the revived blockbuster Jurassic Park franchise, intended as the conclusion to a trilogy consisting of 2015’s Jurassic World and 2018’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. The sequel swan song will showcase a shaken status quo after Fallen Kingdom‘s plot twist, in which the cloned dinosaurs were unleashed upon civilization, altering the existential balance of mankind (and the rest of the animal kingdom).

Seemingly mirroring Disney’s revived Star Wars Sequel Trilogy films, the Jurassic Sequel Trilogy will close things out with the director who helped foster the relaunch, Colin Trevorrow (who ended up the odd man out for the former’s closing film, The Rise of Skywalker, in lieu of J.J. Abrams). He will work off a script that he helped develop with Derek Connolly, co-written by Emily Carmichael.

Dominion will, poetically enough, be a franchise-encompassing reunion with current stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard set to be joined by returning Jurassic Park stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum, seemingly showcasing a climax to the cloned dinosaur cinematic mythology – at least until a studio suit gets the bright idea for another reboot.

Jurassic World 3 News
While production on Jurassic World: Dominion, is of course, halted in the wake of coronavirus concerns, director Colin Trevorrow just revealed a crucial locale for the film. In an inspirational tweet designed to salute professionals who are unable to exercise their trades, Trevorrow included a photo from his halted production, which—in a franchise first—is set in a snowy locale. Indeed, with the continuity altered by the global unleashing of the cloned dinosaurs, it makes sense that the formerly tropical-island-isolated franchise is bringing the action to new climates.

On another note, the face you see on the monitor is child actress Isabella Sermon, who reprises her role from Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom as Maisie Lockwood, who, as revealed in that film, is a clone of the deceased daughter of Benjamin Lockwood (James Cromwell), John Hammond’s former partner, whose dinosaur relocation endeavor went horribly wrong.

Jurassic World 3 Details
The film now known as Jurassic World: Dominion was planned to start production in February at London’s Pinewood Studios, according to Forbes. While the cameras did, indeed, start rolling, it obviously didn’t get to do so for long, due the COVID-19 outbreak.

Colin Trevorrow returns to direct Jurassic World 3 after his long-procured spot as director of Star Wars: Episode IX (now known as Star Wars: The Return of Skywalker,) was unceremoniously yanked by Disney, who instead sought the return of The Force Awakens’s J.J. Abrams. He steps in after J.A. Bayona (A Monster Calls) occupied the director’s chair for 2018 middle act movie Fallen Kingdom. Trevorrow also co-wrote the threequel script.

Interestingly, Trevorrow has already managed to whet audience appetites for Jurassic World 3 by shooting in secret an official Jurassic Universe-set short film, titled “Battle at Big Rock,” which can be viewable online.

Emily Carmichael, a surging screenwriter, co-wrote the script for Jurassic World 3 (as well as short “Battle at Big Rock”), having worked on the screenplay for the 2018 kaiju-killing franchise sequel, Pacific Rim Uprising. Carmichael also rewrote the screenplay to the developing Disney sci-fi reboot film, The Black Hole, which will be directed by Joseph Kosinski of Oblivion and TRON: Legacy fame. As Trevorrow expressed in a 2018 statement on the acquisition of Carmichael:

“It’s important to this franchise that we welcome new creative voices to keep our storytelling fresh and alive. I’m thrilled with the tension and beauty J.A. has brought to Fallen Kingdom, and I know Emily will add another layer of emotion to the concluding chapter of our trilogy.”

Trevorrow also serves as an executive producer alongside Steven Spielberg, joined by producers Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley.

Jurassic World Dominion might not come into theatres

sooo maybe Netflix premiere, would be a exciting move for Netflix to pick up on this

RIP Irrfan Khan (Simon Masrani from Jurassic world)

Smithy 29-04-2020 11:20 AM

Both previous films grossed over a billion there’s not way it won’t be in cinemas

Nicky91 29-04-2020 11:30 AM

true  but if there is already being complaints, i'm sure Netflix is interested if asked as alternative for premiere, which will no doubt lead to more subscribers than ever before

but i can see them withdrawing that statement and it airing in theatres nevertheless

They're specifically discussing premium on demand which is a service Netflix doesn't offer. It means you basically rent the movie for a night or two at a premium price (like £15+). It would be on things like Amazon and Sky Movies.

However this sounds like a bit of a back-and-forth public negotiation, not a serious threat that's likely to actually mean Universal films aren't in theatres. They'll come to some sort of deal. Reminds me of when Sony and Disney had a little online spat over Spider-man and it was announced that Spidey wasn't going to be part of the MCU any more... only for it to be resolved about a week later :joker:.

user104658 29-04-2020 11:49 AM

THAT SAID... I think it might be a while before theatres are fully open again in the UK and Europe... PVOD might be the -only- option in certain territories for a while.

Smithy 29-04-2020 11:53 AM

Well the film is on hold for filming anyway, so it’s release date of summer 2021 is probably gonna be pushed back; so I’d be surprised if cinemas aren’t fully operational by then

Nicky91 29-04-2020 12:47 PM

yes Smithy

but me and other JP/JW fans don't have to be sad anyway, since we're getting that one animated series on Netflix Camp Cretaceous, and there also will be a live action tv series based around jurassic world

Of course the males are, ah, "smoll", it makes sense because birds have a similar sexual dimorphism.

Sam Neill interview some details about JW: Dominion

Nicky91 28-05-2020 09:04 AM

possibly July filming gets resumed, or at least producers are looking towards that month to resume filming

user104658 28-05-2020 10:05 AM

My 10 year old started on the JP series for our Saturday "film night" recently :flutter: (her li'l sis goes to bed and she gets to stay up and watch a film with us on Saturdays).

We've watched the original (she was shook) and Lost World so far. I'm pretty sure it's the first time I've seen Lost World since it was released, or I maybe saw it in the cinema and once on home release when it first came out. I have to say, at the time I don't think I appreciated just how glorious 2 hours of Jeff Goldblum being sarcastic and deadpan about getting eaten by dinosaurs was.

"Shall we do this?"
"Uhh.. no... uhh... because they'll eat you."
"What if we go HERE tho?"
"No! Uhh... EAT YOU!"
"Will you stay here with me?"
"No I will go home because dinosaurs eat people."

He's so wise. I hope he has a decent sized role in the new one and is very skeptical. I want him to see Chris Pratt cosying up to his Raptor girlfriend and be like "Hey... uhh... what ya doing there buddy... ahh... that's pretty ****ing dumb..."

Marsh. 18-06-2020 09:11 AM

Oh I didn't realise Goldblum and Neill were back in them. :clap1:

Oliver_W 18-06-2020 11:02 AM

I wish it was just going to be the original three, and the new two. The two extras from the recent film were annoying AF, and what's that point in having all those other new characters who were announced? Just no. Too crowded!

Maybe have a film with all of the kids from the previous films - Lex & Tim from JP, Kelly from LW, Eric from JP///, and Simon & Iron Man's Friend from JW... I think even the youngest is like 18 now, time flies!

Nicky91 27-06-2020 07:59 AM

some fabulous news now

https://www.comingsoon.net/movies/ne...-dominion-cast

Campbell Scott joins Dominion cast as huge Novel villain, first jurassic park character boss of Nedry, Lewis Dodgson

this one had to be recast given Cameron Thor, Original actor is locked up for being sex offender

we know Campbell Scott mostly from Amazing Spiderman, as Richard Parker

Oliver_W 27-06-2020 08:05 AM

Another character

At least he comes from JP "lore" though. He's a pretty good character in the Lost World book. He went to the island to steal eggs from each nest, and his hubris got his friends killed. He also straight up tried to murder Sarah at one point!

Nicky91 27-06-2020 08:10 AM

wonder if Scott Haze, Dichen Lachman play as Dodgson employees then

Chris Pratt commented on this massive cast from both old, new casts coming together similar as a Avengers Endgame

but also Trevorrow said Dominion isn't the last in the franchise, but the start of a New Era

Strictly Jake 27-06-2020 08:29 AM

I would like to see a cameo from ariana richards

Spoiler:

Calderyon 02-07-2020 11:42 AM

So we've got the five proper characters, the two annoying side characters, at least three new characters, and six new dinosaurs? Two of whom are basically "Raptors" anyway?

Jeez, is there a kitchen sink floating around in there too?

Calderyon 02-07-2020 11:52 AM

End of the Franchise movie?

In the first film you have loads of “main” characters anyway, as long as it’s well written I don’t see the problem

Would also take the Dino list with a pinch of salt
